No this time its not Sequence but I thought all you Dance lovers would enjoy seeing these two Andalucian Horses Dance. I took this film at the Cortijo Pinar Rendon in the Pinar del Rey Nature Reserve in San Roque(Spain) ,about 15 minutes from my home in Gibraltar. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

It is amazing to see how people give their opinions about things they ignore! Horses are loved, adored and cared for in Andalucia. I know many people who own horses and they love them as much as they love their families, as so many people do in so many countries. They appreciate their dignity and they do not abuse or mistreat them. I'm totally against bullfighting but it has nothing to do with the way Andalusians treat their horses. We adore them and that's the reason why we love to include them in every aspect of our lives and our culture. We just grow up surrounded by them. Of course, they would be better if they were running free in the countryside.. just as much as dogs, cats, pigs, hamsters... Horse lovers are animal lovers. And then, there are people, everywhere, who are just mean and evil to people and to animals.

I was living in a remote area of the Navajo Nation on a cattle ranch. There was a stud colt there that I liked so much and started working with him. He did all kinds of unusual leaps and gaits and he could out walk all the jogging horses across miles of desert all day. I had a professional horse person I knew look at him. She told me he is a perfectly balanced Andalusian horse. The original Spanish horses are still out in Monument Valley. Quarter horses arrived 15 years ago. How it happened.

The horse isn't "skttering around" He is performing a Piaffe pirouette. This takes a lot of love & patience from his rider. The whip is not an instrument with which to hit the horse. It is an extension of the hand of the rider to indicate to the horse what he is asking him to do. I can assure you that this horse has never had a slap with the whip or he wouldn't be as one with his rider.

Guys we all need to check facts,lots of fascinating info,little space.It was first called the caballo andaluz because it was developed in Córdoba as from 1567, Felipe II. 1st part of 18th century Portugal imported 1st batch of Andaluces. Exactly the same horse till 1966 Spain lo longer shared registry book with Portugal. 1912 militry takes over breeding,no longer Caballo Andaluz but Caballo de Pura Raza Español PRE, now a national horse for all breeders, not just regional from Andalucía.

Lusitano, PRE, etc...come Andalusian horses too. Wikipedia: The Lusitano is a Portuguese horse breed, closely related to the Spanish Andalusian horse. Both are sometimes called Iberian horses, as the breeds both developed on the Iberian peninsula, and until the 1960s they were considered one breed, under the Andalusian name. Wikipedia: The Andalusian, also known as the Pure Spanish Horse or PRE (Pura Raza Española), is a horse breed developed in the Iberian Peninsula...

@andalusian247 Andalusian horses is the real name of the many actual breeds: Lipizzan, PRE, Lusitano, etc etc...I am proud to be Andalusian :D P.D: Andalusian horses were introduced by the Spanish in America. In America horses did not exist before..."Then, suddenly, between 10,000 and 8,000 years ago, Equus disappeared from North and South America. Various theories drought, disease, extinction or hunting"..."until the Spanish explorers brought horses by ship in the sixteenth century"

Andalusains do come in palomino color, yes the horse looks to be a lusitano, which is a strain of the Andalusian just a different part of the country hence the name.

the more I look at the video, I am going with Andalusain that doesn't look to happy with his dance partner(rider, lol). Except albino,to an extent, is not good in any animal, Yes most andies are grey nowadays because of the older version PRE, Due to DNA/ genetics to the color palomino and other colors, PRE opened their eyes to show that just like the German Shepard dog, who's breed founder favored black and tans, its all about politics/breeders and color discrimination. A well bred palomino Andalusain is just as good as a grey well bred Andalusain. I will keep saying as well as all knowledgeable horse people will agree, a good well mannered horse should be valued no matter what color, fancy vs plain, or breed it is. Oh just for the fun of it according to the old records, a looonnnggg time ago even the Lipizzaner had colors other then grey and black. Oh, Oh the world just came to an end.

Ma dov'è l'amore per il cavallo? Sembra nella mano ma non lo è. Basta guardare i movimenti della testa. E poi la chiamano arte equestre!!! Alta scuola!! Se fosse lui ( il cavalcate. ... cavaliere no!) a stare sotto ?? Orrendo Da ragazzo dicevo che bello. Ora comprendo qualcosa e mi chiedo fra quanti millenni l'uomo cambierà? Quando si creerà l'insieme con il cavallo? Senza frustino imboccatura e speroni? Ma i cavalli non sono come o meglio o più intelligenti dei cani?

So much ignorance. These Spanish and Portuguese Andalusian horses are bred to work bulls close at hand. Before that, they were bred to be war horses and fly through the air during battle. I'm a ranch person and I think barrel racing is the stupidest, most irrelevant thing to do with a horse. I accidently have an Andalusian horse who will do everything seen here around me with no rider and not even a halter. He is awesome at working cattle. Educate yourself before you comment.

Only one problem. That first horse can't be an Andalusian. Andalusians do not come in palomino. He's also way too light through the body - Andalusians are stockier. Maybe the announcer lied, but I am pretty sure he is actually a Lusitano - a very similar breed - that does come in that color.

@alexiawoo6303 10 жыл бұрын
actually they can be palominos and still be pure breds they are thrown back for buckskins and are rare ,and there are actually two types of andalucians the older type which were first bred by monks and the ones bred for height. I own both types and they are both pure breds.

@ajgensel9359
@ajgensel9359 10 жыл бұрын
Please point out to me where you see these horses being abused in this video, I see loose, relaxed, happy animals. The rider never used his whip except to wag it to encourage his mount to fully engage so that he could match the female dancers movements, he was using his spurs but again only to add energy, not punish and he there were no marks on the horses side from their use, and you would see marks from spurs that large if he had gotten aggressive with them. The handler only ever touches his horse with the whip to signal a directional change or specific movement and he never hits the horse with it, neither rider or handler is yanking on their horses mouth save at the very last where the handler is asking his horse to spin on its hind legs and it is ignoring him because it would rather duck out the gate. But the handler isn't doing it to be mean, he is simply trying to get the horses attention back on him where it should be. This was beautiful, I'm grateful to get to see it like this since I will probably never be able to afford a trip to see this in person.
