Great video :D For beginners out there who want some more detail guide for this creamy sound profile : - Although lubing switches are not necessary,I believe it will make your keyboard sound even more creamy, which nobody hate right :D ? Also, the KTT Strawberry is more suitable for clacky / poppy build,I believe switches like KTT Kang White or Akko Cream Yellow v3 lubed will make this so much more creamy. - The creamy sound is made by a common fomular : A LOT OF foam and MUST HAVE PE FOAM,this kit just included everything out of the box so yea, super beginner friendly xD

Hey, that's a really good build you got there. Although I would enjoy following this guide, I'm more interested in finding tips on how to make your keyboards so creamy while having the poppy sound at the same time. I have a recently-completed build that is around $200, but I'm not fully satisfied in the sound yet. Any tips on how to get this sound you made? Right now my build uses a Polycarbonate plate with Akko Radiant Reds (I was lucky to buy them just days before it stopped selling), and I have applied the tape mod and PE foam to it. The keycaps are a custom profile that combines Cherry and XDA.

Great video! However you need to use different size of keycaps for your bottom row (1.5u, 1u and 1.5u CTRL , winkey / super key, ALT Respectively). This is just because the tiger lite has a Tsangan bottom row (1.5u, 1u, 1.5u, 7u spacebar, 1.5u, 1u, 1.5u), not the standard ANSI Bottom row (1.25u, 1.25u, 1.25u, 6.25U Spacebar, 1.25u, 1.25u, 1.25u, 1.25u). keebsnstuff and theremingoat will be your best bet for articles about the hobby or maybe im just a little biased. from keebsnstuff: "A more recent development has been the use of polyethylene (PE) foam between the plate and PCB and stabbing your switches through that to replicate the same implementation in the Jelly Epoch. The result is what many have described as a “marbly” sound signature, whatever that means. However, the use of the PE foam mod has resulted in essentially a large number of keyboards sitting on people’s desks that sound exactly the same and very little to discern between them despite having different switches. The PE foam mod can make your cheap and cheerful board sound exactly like a $389 USD keyboard. This is less a roast on those of you doing the mod on your Tofus (I mean, I did) but rather an indictment on the designers of the Jelly Epoch. I can’t help but feel that releasing the PE mod into the wild has diminished the perceived value of the board since someone can just chuck in some PE foam in to their KBD75. I speak in hyperbole but I hope you get my point. "

I don't get how snipping off a piece of plastic on the stabs does anything and if it does then why is it even there? I have never seen an explanation for snipping them off and everyone just does it because they saw someone else do it. Same with putting tape on the back of the pcb. I can't see how that would achieve anything at all. Again noone ever says what it does, just that it "sounds better" but then they do a comparison and theres no difference.

For a video that's meant to be informative and directed towards beginners, there are a few glaring issues. 1. The keyboard choice. The Tiger80 is a perfectly good board, my problem is that a beginner who doesn't fully understand how keyboard components affect sound would think that they need the Tiger80 specifically, or boards with very close features and specifications, in order to achieve the sound this video is trying to achieve. 2. Switch choice. The switch choice is totally arbitrary, and the only "reason" I could see that isn't arbitrary is the fact that they're pre-lubed. You don't explain why you chose the KTT Strawbs, neither in the "what you need" or the "switches" section. A beginner who doesn't know that switches are one of the lowest contributing factor to a board's overall sound will be easily mislead into thinking they NEED KTT strawberries to achieve this sound, or worse yet, if they use KTT Strawberries in a different board, they'll achieve the same exact sound. There are smaller problems that I can nitpick, like how it would've been nice if you explained what the tape mod actually does, but that's whatever.

People might argue that pre/factory lubing is good enough these days but I really beg to differ. I can totally understand firmer switches with less shakey housing, but recently i got some morandis and decided i would hand lube them. When i opened up the switches they were barely lubed and extremely inconsistent so i would definitely still recommend hand lubing switches because factory lubing is just not it... Before I lubed them i preferred my lubed nk creams but after i did it was just so much nicer that i switchee them out.
