Yes! Thank you so much for this. I definitely agree about this song having a deeper meaning to her than for the rest of us because if you think about it, the lines which invoke imagery like, "all the colors will bleed into one;" she has never seen that. Lyrics don't paint the same imagery for her that they do for us. She doesn't try to paint us a mental image to connect us to the song. She, I believe, feels and understands emotions so much more deeply than we do. Her genius is her ability to make us remember or feel the emotions associated with a particular experience or situation, this one being the feelings that we have all felt when still not having found, what we have been looking for. She connects us to those emotions more intensely because it's just the emotions, not the imagery or other parts of the experience. At least, in my personal opinion, this is why so many people get so emotional listening to her sing. I think her ability to emotionally connect to us in this way, without consciously trying to do so, is what makes her stand out more than other artists who have the same level of technical ability as she does.
