Which travels faster, Usain Bolt or a formula 1 car?
In this video we’ll find out how to calculate speed using distance and time…
Which we’ll then use to work out the answer to who’s faster.
Speed is a measure of the distance an object travels in a certain time.
Speed can be calculated using the formula “Speed equals distance traveled divided by time”
So to work out which is faster, Usain Bolt or the F1 car, we need to know how far they both travel and how long it takes them to cover that distance.

Hello! I'm hoping someone can help me to figure this out. How can I determine speed MPH of a pendulum that's swinging (swinging for/aft.) but independent from the moving object it's fixed on? For example, if there is a shiny compact CD hung with fishing line from an automobiles rearview mirror. Also, would a radar beam signal be more apt to bounce off the shiny CD (pendulum) than other items on the round shaped front clip of a 2003 Ford Taurus? If a car is going 30mph .....would the pendulums' forward motion combined with the actual vehicle speed being 30mph, then give a false speed reading (showing faster speed 30)? Please advise. I'd greatly appreciate any/all help. I'm very interested making this determination, but lack the means, equipment, and a good place in which to test. Thanks a million!!! R.L. Buddi

the question thats not being answered is if a ball was to move a certain speed is can the speed the ball is moving make it so the outside can move faster and the thing inside the ball isnt affected by the outside speed ,i believe if a ball spins at a certain speed that it will prevent the thing in the certer of the ball from feeling the speed outside of the ball, so if a ball moves lets say 100 miles per hour then the ball could move 10000miles per hour and the thing inside the ball will only feel like its moving 100 miles per hour

How long would it take an astronaut to travel to a planet 4 light years away and back again while traveling at half the speed of light? What I’m really asking is how will the astronauts time be different than someone’s on earth when the astronaut gets back, if time slows the faster you go?

So for the last question about a person walking, you have distance (5km) and and speed (3km/h), you need to find time. The formula is DISTANCE = SPEED x TIME, so TIME = DISTANCE / SPEED, which in our case is 5km divided by 3km/h, which equals 1.66 h.

Using the formula Speed = Distance / Time Distance and Time were given for this example: distance 100m, time 9.58s And so Speed = 100m / 9.58s = 10.44m/s

The car is not faster. The F1 car itself is not moving. We are the ones igniting the gas that propels it forwards. Would you think the car would be faster if Usain Bolt was driving it? We are moving 492,126 miles per hour plus the speed of the earth spinning (roughly 1,000 miles per hour) and the speed we are moving on the earth (Walking, jogging, running, moving in a car). The black hole in the center of the earth is bending and throwing everything around. That black hole is the reason we are even alive right now. The fact that I am 11 and I know all this when you are going "oh the f1 car is so much faster" at like 12 13 up is pretty sad.
