I love how excited these guys are about our race series, it's a big rap to hear them say how much they like it and how much they like Bathurst.
@Muggo0513 жыл бұрын
this is unreal, it is so good to hear how excited the Americans are to have our series over there and to broadcast it. DW is a legend and will bring an awesome flavour to V8SC commentary.

A shame we lost this channel. So glad at least you tube gives it to us! For 7 years the last thing I watched the 2007 Bathurst 1000 race intro! 75 podiums 24 wins 2 championships and top 3 overall at the end of every season!! My 1st kart # The 888! Sent Craig Lowndes a picture of it and got a response!!! Inspiration from afar as I live in Canada. Would love to to a V8 Suoercar Canadian triple header. Toronto Mosport Montreal. 40 -125 and 700 km away from all 3 tracks! Lived a 25 minute walk to Toronto for 8 years ! 10 years of Karting at Mosport. This BS year should have been 4th GP and about the 30th time there since 2008. Driving own car on a F1 track is awesome except for a painfully slow 40 kph speed limit.

Congrats to the fans in the States....but I sure wish that they do live(or any) coverage in Europe too...Timezone difference or not, it's worth seeing this true motorsports masterpiece!

@MrDemoncrusher Far as technical goes, it's a lot more than you think. The cars need a new setup just about every track they go. What they used at Daytona with the huge, sweeping turns isn't going to work at Martinsville with the flat hairpins. And what they use at Martinsville isn't going to work at Las Vegas with the speeds of 200 mph but the nearly flat turns.
@MrDemoncrusher12 жыл бұрын
@PchanStitch - I take it you mean Marcos Ambrose, he came 1st @ watkins glen, oh that's right I was forgetting it's a proper race track with right hand turns. Where you've actually gotta use that middle peddle on the floor, sorry my bad. As for the left hand ovals he probably gets bored to death or dizzy.... or both.

@MrDemoncrusher Yeah, I can totally imagine a two-time V8 champ would leave everything in Australia, and spend years and years in America being bored 34 out of 36 races for the past three or four years. The logic there is just overflowing....

Mike Joy is one of the classiest US motorsport voices, trained on local racing, a former club racer and avid vintage car collector himself, and easily distinguished as the premier voice of motorsport. Comparing it to the old SCCA Trans-Am of the 1960's was crucial, and Darrell Waltrip raced an Aston Martin at the Daytona 24 Hours. Too bad there's no Larry McReynolds -- he's the third cog of the longest-running commentary team.

@v8hooksey Rather, The V8 SuperCars at Watkins Glen, Laguna Seca!!!!!! Something about those cars/racing that appeals to me more than the Cup cars.

At least with the popularity of the V8 Supercars in the states with their commentary team coming over to cover it, hopefully will see a full crowd when they go to Texas. Unlike the middle east, where its a game of spot the spectator. When they do go to Texas, it would be a great boost for the series in that market if Ambrose could get a ride, or at least a demo ride in his old pirtek falcon

@MrDemoncrusher And with how difficult these cars are to drive (the stock cars in NASCAR have been called the most challenging in the world, even by Formula 1 drivers), that takes it's own degree of skill. I challenge you to really watch a race, moreoever, watch the guys driving them. They aren't just 'turning left', those guys are fighting the wheel of the car tooth-and-nail to keep the thing in the proper line, and when the race is over, these guys are completely exhausted.
@jonathangair8031 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. I lost quite a lot, one heck of a lot, of my appreciation for racing when the cars ceased to at least seem to be straight off the car dealership showroom floor. I mean why were we watching in the first place!!!!
@MrDemoncrusher12 жыл бұрын
@seantib1 Not some purpose built tubular space frame chassis wrapped in fibre glass that no one could actually purchase let alone barely recognise... Again I'm not trying to make enemies, I'm just passionate about what I consider.... (And yes it is just my opinion) to be what true motor racing is all about
@Skippy-id9yt3 жыл бұрын
Americans can enjoy it when it's Mustang vs Camaro , as an Aussie I'm more excited than I thought I would've been (no falcon or Commodore ) but I can still follow ford and Holden fans put Chevy badges on half their Commodore's anyways so it's a win win 👍🇦🇺🇺🇲

Well, I prefer V8s, but NASCAR can be boring but I like it when they get big packs like the finish at 'Dega and also road course races. BTW, these days, V8 Supercars are built from scratch by the teams, they are never production cars now.
@nathanappleton89767 жыл бұрын
Dude you know nothing about v8 supercars they are 100% production car. In Australia they have to sell at least 100 000 of the same production car before it can be in a v8 super cup series. There for every car that you see holden ford Nissan and volo you can buy wright now and you can put on the same body kit that they have and I bet you that it looks the same and is the same.
@georgefloyd114732 жыл бұрын
Did you predict the future? Because nowadays they actually are built by the teams themselves and not production made.
@TrailBlazer652 жыл бұрын
@@georgefloyd11473 Don't think I predicted anything. The cars have been built by teams from the ground up since the early 2000s.
@georgefloyd114732 жыл бұрын
@@TrailBlazer65 Really? I thought they were only built from the ground up by the teams since around 2018.
@MrDemoncrusher12 жыл бұрын
@seantib1 Hey dude, I'm not trying to make enemies here. The ultimate point I'm making is for years now the american audiences have been ripped off. As mike Joy talks in the vid of the trans am series, it was 'real' cars you or I could buy off the show room floor on a road race course which is what true racing is all about.

The only reason there showing this is America is cuz there coming to Texas in 2013. If they were not coming to Texas they wouldn't be showing this race. The V8 Supercars are the 2nd best racing out there, F1 is the best.

The real Bathurst was on a couple of weeks ago, called the Bathurst 12 hour the supertaxi series is a lot of fuss a noise and an insult to the history of the race it spends so much time claiming is theirs.
@Simsman5811 жыл бұрын
NASCAR is so boring driving around a circle for 800 laps v8supercars are better and real cars built from road cars into big bangers
