Live run of DK64 by cfox. Oh, the DK Rap. That was donated for.=) Lmao. From SDA's Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ 2013) a charity speed run marathon which aimed to raise money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The marathon was a MASSIVE success, with donations reaching $448,423.27.

The famous gorilla came to Nintendo 64 in November 1999 in his first 3D adventure. Most of his family and all of his precious banana collection have once again been locked away by K.Rool. Rescue the Kongs of varying abilities and recollect the scattered 201-large banana collection while travelling to seven different areas. Donkey Kong 64 is a platform game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 that was released in North America on November 24, in Europe on December 6, and in Japan on December 10, 1999. The game is a follow up to the Donkey Kong Country trilogy on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Many of the levels are based on levels from the original three Donkey Kong Country games, such as the mine carts and the bonus stages. Donkey Kong 64 follows the adventures of Donkey Kong and four of his simian relatives as they try to win back their hoard of Golden Bananas and banish King K. Rool. Players can control all five Kongs in eight individual levels as well as a greater world map, a multiplayer mode, and several minigames.
'It was the first game to require the Expansion Pak, which provides 4 MB more RAM for enhanced graphics and more expansive environments (the only other game to require the Expansion Pak for any gameplay whatsoever was The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask; all others were optional with the exception of Perfect Dark's limited gameplay).[Donkey Kong 64 went on to become a Nintendo 64 Player's Choice title. This is one of the only Donkey Kong games that has yet to be available on the Virtual Console, despite the fact that, unlike most of the games that Rare has made for the system (such as the Banjo-Kazooie series and Conker's Bad Fur Day, among others), Nintendo retains full rights to the game just as with the other games in the franchise (Donkey Kong being their intellectual property). For those who stumble across these videos, a speed run is a video of a person or persons, completing a game as fast as possible using any means possible. This can include glitches, abusing in-game mechanics and skipping items or even playing events out of sequence.

This commentary is in my top favorites. The runner is so animated. He clearly enjoys what he's doing and despite his luck concerning the glitches, he keeps a good, relaxed mood throughout the whole thing. Good job.

I haven't plsyed it in years. I couldn't even beat K. Rool when I was little. I kept failing on the shoe part because I didn't understand the toe pattern.

This brings back memories. I played a ton of DK64 when I was 10. I somehow managed to get 101% because I had 201 golden bananas. While you're inside the main island, there's actually a secret section where you can get into one of King K Rool's rooms, where one of the cutscenes takes place.

Definitely one of my favorites from the marathon as well. The whole run has a really comfortable and laid-back atmosphere that feels relatable to my experience with the game. I'd probably watch a 101% if he did one for AGDQ.

Only n64 game I owned that I loved and yet couldn't beat. For some reason I got stuck at a set of doors that required some sort of special coins to enter and I got the one for some absurd amount of points on the spaceman mini game then could never find the second. I don't know if that was an extra or part of the game but it effectively ended my run of it.

Know how one of donkey kongs bananas on frantic factory is to play the original donkey kong arcade game? Once u get that you have to play the game again this time on a higher difficulty then u get the second rare ware coin. It's absurd but pays off I guess :/

I don't know if any one else had it but when i was a kid some McDonalds had a small tv faced down which had DK 64 and i always tried to run it. Good times :)

Because SPEED RUNS NEED CAPS FOR THEIR AWESOMENESS, IT CANNOT BE CONTAINED IN LOWER CASE WORDS. EVEN SOME OF IT JUST SPEWED OUT OF THE SPEeD RUN (FROM THAT E) AND IS MAKING ME CAPITALIZE EVERYTHING. GOOD DAY TO YOU SIR.

Playing the arcade wasn't too bad. Took me 3-4 times to beat each version. Once it got to Crystal Caves, then I started to scream and bang stuff. Still, I managed and successfully beat it 101%.

Heheh. Oh, for farting around after beating the game, I used to go up to Fungi Forest's island and practice my cannonball/belly flops. Many painful looking memories from that. XD

at 26:31 it works almost consistently if you have your camera angle right to the ground like parallel, I think it creates more lag

It is a frame perfect trick, but since it is at the very beginning of a run it is easy to restart the entire run if you fuck it up. Since he did this live, he just kept going instead of restarting the counter after messing up the memory bug in the start menu. It was probably just approx 10-15 sec at most he lost I think.
