Speeding up Lava Lamp Warmup (How to instructions)

With this easy method, we ensure that the lava starts flowing a lot faster than usual.

Great tip. I'm going to make my lamp an aluminum cone blanket that I can keep reusing.

Never thought of this trick, but it makes sense as it radiates the infrared energy from the lamp back inside the bottle.

Nice tip, thanks! Sometimes I don't plan ahead, so shorter warm-up time is nice. I wonder why this works? Seems like the metal foil would conduct heat away from the globe and slow it down. But, it also reflects some of that light back inside. The foil acts like insulation here, which seems weird for a conductive metal.

Yeah this method is cool in all but I have keep using aluminium foil each time I start up my Lava Lamp. Imagine if you have more than 10 of them, that can be very or extremely annoying. I am gonna stick with original way.
