WOW Angela. GREAT paint job. This really made the Speed paints shine because of the way you used them and your talent in painting the miniature. I am sorry I missed the Premiere. Your enthusiasm is contagious. Thank you for that!

That knight looks awesome. I found some rules for an old Bretonian jousting game called Full Tilt, and i bought a box of Fireforge knights to play it. If my knights turn out anywhere near as good then I'll be very happy.

i like the color scheme on this. I am currently painting a unit of Bretonnian knights to use in my Cities of Sigmar Army, and this is a great inspiration. I am not sure what colors to use on all the cloth yet, but I think each knight/horse will get a different color with some details that will be the same for all to tie them together as an army. but I will be placing them on oval bases.

Thanx for the vid. Definately gonna give those paints a try, when the big set comes out. There are a few decent army painter products. The matt varnish spray is excellent and I prefer it to other ones Ive tried, although the nozzles clog really easily which is a pain. Cheers again Angela.

Using Speed Paints over a zenithal prime is the way to go ho help achieve some added depth; plus, when using regular primer, i find it helps to seal the primer with a varnish before applying Speed Paint. Go Bretonnia!

Tell us about any re-activation issues you had with layering…. And any tips for working around that or are we stuck varnishing between coats to keep the layers from lifting?
@ericboyle8296

I watched with that in mind as well. Clearly painting metallics over the black works. I use a dry brush method with that though. The reactivation issue is serious if you layer with different paints.

I think this looks amazing. I'd like to ask a question. Did you test using a double layer of the Speedpaint Black with a drybrush of the metallic for the chain armor on the horse? I was just curious if you did, what did you like/not like about it to choose going with the black/metallic/black combo you used? If you did test out the double black/drybrush metallic, what kind of application would you consider using it for in the future? Thanks again for these tests, I am really enjoying seeing how you combo the Speedpaints with the primers and other paints.

Great step by step tutorial, especially liked your thoughts on the use of the Black. I have lots of black armour to do for 16th Century. How do you find Speedpaint wear on your brushes, as Contrast really kills the sable bristles?
@HobbyNight
@HobbyNight 2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t used them enough to notice any wear but I also don’t find Contrast paints to be super damaging to my brushes either. But I also use synthetic mixes and clean my brushes using brush soaps every time after painting! Lol

it would help if you used the correct sized brush for what you were trying to paint - you also shouldnt overload your brush - you could have easily avoided a lot of mistakes and touch ups also, working your way from the "inside" to the "outside" of the model would help you - ya know - paint the inner most parts of the model - in this instance it would have been the horse, then its cloth, then its details - working your way "outward"

I find it funny that you are wearing a Dark Order beanie while wearing a Sammy Guevara vlog hoodie. That is quite funny. I like how your knight turned out and its such a taunt. The Bretonian's were my favorite warhammer faction and when they were removed it ticked me off so much. I never had a chance to collect any of the miniatures and now I wish I had. I also am not much of a fan of these speed paints or contrast paints. I don't like not having full control over the paint and they seem to run all over the place which makes precision painting an impossible task.

The only time I ever had success with corax white primer was for some clone troopers for Star Wars legion. Hit them with that, used apothecary white to shade it up, and then paint the under armor joints and bits in Vallejo German Grey (near black - could have used Corvus black as a GW equivalent). Pretty efficient and decent way for getting troops out there. Don’t have them anymore but I’m out of the game system
