Speedway rules always has

You don't see it every day, but I watched e ery weekend at the Orange County Fair Grounds. 500 cc Jawas, 1 cluch , 1 rear, WFO, throw her sideways and wheelie the straight away. Watched from ruin 1 and had to buy a program to keep dirt out of my beer. Love them 70's. Wild Bill Cody, Mike and Steve Bast, Billie (BUD) Grey, then came Bruceter the Rooster Penhall. Bandy Rooster. Then they shut down ASCOT. TEARS

I also remember O.C. fairgrounds in the early 1970s they had mostly the Jawas and J.A P. 500cc. it was the specticle AND the sound that attracted the crowds, THEN they tried 500cc two strokes and the crowds disapeared!! NOTHING more iritating than a screeching two smoke tho they did cut over a second of the lap times, tho without the spectaters the races were DOOMED, Those speedway races generaly atracted a TOTALY different typ of crowd than went to ASCOT!!
