Out of all the RC channels online you're about the only one that shows these things step by step. I guess if I just sat down and read the manual I could have a handle at this too but if it wasn't for your DX5C set up video with the Infraction I would not have figured it out... Don't understand why the GUI is pretty shit.

With the lasernut and the dc3 I had to set all my parameters, make sure avc and brakes were turned all the way up on the controller, then calibrate the controller. I think at this point you re-bind the controller. Mine works awesome! I like that you can make adjustments through the app. The Bluetooth module and phone mount for the dx3 was around $40. (USA)

If you have a new Kraton with STX2 you have to change the receiver too, so It makes the decision a bit harder. Consider the dumbo, radio link, or fly sky for budget options. If you want the best that is Sanwa IMO (fastest protocol and telemetry doesn’t slow it down)

So I bit the bullet & bought an DX5C Smart with the SR6100at receiver. I do not have Spektrum SMART branded batteries so I do not get any of that battery specific info. I do, however, get temp & one other thing that I cannot remember right now. I do not get RPM/speed & other non-battery related telemetry. What receiver are you using? Did yo have to program/register the receiver with the Spektrum Win10 app via the Spektrum updater cable?

No but you have to find the setting for rollout in the radio and set it for your model. And enable extra telemetry screens to show rpm/speed.

You need to upgrade the firmware on the Spektrum SR6100AT reciever. To do so requires their special cable and a Windows PC.

Wow that is NOT smart If the Rx can’t be firmware upgraded thru the app. The special cable is also needed to firmware upgrade the DX5C Smart. 🤦‍♂️

Netcruzer RC TECH CARS i saw from your video that your transmitter is already on the latest version 1.08. You just need to do the receivers and they don’t make it easy, you have to register each unit on their website before you can update it.

So will any DSM/DSM2 receiver work? More importantly does the telemetry function need to be supported by the receiver as well or just the transmitter?

But the Spektrum smart lipo batteries cost about 50% more than normal lipo batteries. Important to factor that in. Spektrum smart technology is nice but you got to pay to play.

I can't even get the drive modes to show up... And my Kraton 8s is just stuck with 100% AVC and it's completely ruining the experience.

I’m running the DX5C on my kraton 8s. The telemetry keeps dropping out randomly, any ideas? It happens when the car is stationary and while driving. I don’t think it’s a physical connection issue within the car. Very odd as it’s so random. Can’t find anybody with the same problem online

My DX2E has an auxilary channel with a 3 position switch 100/0/100 I have yet to see what that channel does

What was yr roll out I got the dx5 pro and I can’t set my roll out properly

That I never figured out for Infraction. Roll out for DB Pro is in the manual. You need to set the roll out differentely for each model its dependent on tire size and transmission ratio.

@@NODTHEROD I just got an mt4, way more adjustability than spektrum. Can move the trigger position and loosen or tighten the tension spring on the trigger and wheel. I'm running mine on a lipo. Spektrum radios feel like they're still an rtr radio, very few adjustments and response times don't compete with sanwa. A 9 year old radio feels better than a dx5c. I would like to hear John's opinion as well

Sanwa MT4 is better than DX5C. MT4 has telemetry at ~4ms and the spektrum is 11ms. I’m keeping Sanwa for racing guys!

Netcruzer RC TECH CARS futaba 4pm is also 4ms....sorry spectrum...I go from flysky to futaba or Sanwa. Spectrum to me just is a silly nonesense price/performance level.

i think the dx5 pro with the sr6100at receiver is better all telemetry ( for those that want it) is on the TX. just glance at your radio and its all there, some other brands require you buy sensors, which i think is bullshit, and a waste of money.

Can you run the DX5 pro with this rx and telemetry at 5.5ms? I don’t think so, just 11ms which is OK for bashing not ideal for racing.

@@netcruzer The dx5 pro, with a spektrum sr2100 rx can and will respond with 5.5m. All you need is a rx, thats capable and spektrum have several rx , capable of 5.5ms, all with telemetry. Do your research bro.
