I’m not spell but play as much as you can, listen to and learn the music you love and want to play like, of course theory is a beautiful thing, but spell is a prime example of someone who didn’t learn it and still plays amazingly

Music theory, knowing how to build a scale and practice are cheat codes to getting good at piano imo. I know it's kinda of a boring answer but it's what worked for me. Scott Paul Johnson is a good guy to check out if your interested, he teaches guitar but the theory stuff applies to piano and bass as well.

same as guys like fela kuti or other session musicians just play the living !@*#78 out of your instrument really love playing. And keep keep doing it, try watching tv and playing along with the random music you hear. Good for you ear, jimmy hendrix did the same not saying this is " the way" but just play play play tldr there are no shortcuts or you play allot practicing scales and what not or you play allot and learn by ear it does not matter. but you have to put in the time.
