Instead of DRNM it could be a lightning storm or ash . DRNM is not even the best card against books since wisdom blocks it

@@rylansiwicki8247 Like i said dinos had lucky but other cards would be enough to destroy books. Anyway Dinos are far better than books. They have more consistency(2 card combos with 12 starters) and books need at least 3 cards or even 4 to have a nice board.

This is what happens when you put old decks vs barely rogue shit decks. Neither can break their opponent's boards, so it basically becomes a coin flip. Dinos are a far cry from something like Orcusts.

Yeah, so pretty much as expected - Spellbook had absolutely no semblance of a chance going second and they did have to 3-0 their going first games. Dino only needed to steal one of those games and they managed to do so. Good fight from Spellbooks against a title candidate - but absolutely having to go first makes things much tougher on them. Even prime DRulers didn't have going second board breaking or going first board building ability of 2020 Dino. Next match should be an entertaining one! I'm actually saying Hero pulls the upset here. Dark Law should absolutely brutalize Gouki, and Heroes have access to Nibiru, a SUPER hard counter to Gouki. Going second, it's likely Nibiru or lose though. I don't think one ash is gonna do it.

Dinos were certainly the stroger deck here, only reason spellbooks had any advantage was the coin toss at the start and despite that all it took was one hand for dinos to take a win

Spellbooks made this a lot closer than expected, my goodness it really did come to that game five and three blue boys you hate to see, but Dino's going second with that hand was game over. I underestimated Spellbooks. I go Heroes 3-2 over Spyral but that match will be closer than we expect. It all depends who goes first game 1 and possibly game 5.

I honestly love Spellbooks and wanted them to win this match, shame. I wish the older decks could side some of the newer handtraps, ash seems to be a killer. Maybe a second cup needs to be invented, like a dream match cup, where older decks can use newer cards with their old cards that are still banned.

This would be a cool idea. Maybe allow older decks to have staples of the current format? Stuff like Ash, Ghost Ogre, etc. I love the Cross-ban list but the results are soon going to be too easy to see from a mile away.

honestly they had access to op floodgates & crow/droll it wasn't the side that killed their chances of converting going 1st 3 times in the bo5 into a win or ash, it was drawing no side cards + bricking on top of that & dino getting lucky drawing drnm & not bricking

The commentary was very good this video. Next match Goukis 3-1. Extralink is really good in MR4 and Heroes don't have a chance against that. Also, Firewall is a card.

Lmao jowgen is a very healthy card. You wanna cripple my anti meta deck? sorry but in today’s format there is pendulums which can pump out Armophage and 5 negates first turn , there is dinosaurs which can pump out barrier statue of the stormwinds with the Simorgh link. So I ask you my friend what is the difference???? When these decks can do that than we have to Ban The Simorgh link, the Armophage Goliath and other locks.

Spellbook of *First Turn Win* bricking? what a shame, but this shows how Judgment still as powerful as ever. HERO 3-2, side deck is a huge advantage against Gouki, but if they don't open with it, it's Gouki match.

Honestly Spellbooks and Six samurai's had the best op spell cards that provides way too much Advantage I've never seen one singular spell card gain as much Advantage as judgement or Gateway of the six I can spam a whole field of level 4 from gateway and get a new hand lmao it's too slow nowadays but still a shit ton of advantage I've beaten decks like Monarchs and Pepe because going first opening Gateway or itleast opening Naturia beast they can't do anything lol

Spellbooks were the first competitive deck I ever put together. I really wish they'd at least put Judgment at 1. I'm trying to pass turn with Jowgen, Star Hall, Fate, Silent Magician and 6 cards in hand dammit.

3-1 Gouki. Heroes are really search dependent and having 3 Droll & Lock & Ash will really shut them down. Plus, they can easily setup the Firewall and Tri-Wizard negate. Also, the side deck can throw the curveball at them.

But it is questionable weither or not it is more broken/degenerate than Numeron/Zexal lockdown, Halqifibrax Linkross combo or 1 Card Calamities floodgate. All the prior mentioned cards are "fine" (because they aren't on the f&l list), but judgment even at 1 would be too strong and busted?

the fact that judgment was solo carrying spell books against as deck like dinos shows that judgment will not be getting out of banlist jail anytime soon or at all. I think Niberu will be mvp for heros cause once goki sets up there is nothing they can do to out the board. Heros will win 3-2 since their side deck is way more powerful and dark law shuts down goki plays (unless they open a kaiju of course)

this is kinda expected was with d ruler match up take down bunch of beaters etc ocg did run maiden blue eyes , maybe next cross banlist use that variation with felgrand. kyco was also a good mvp against banish from grave decks but hard for him to hit over huge beat sticks. this match up really seemed to be who wins dice/coin flip/ rock paper scissors , g5 lithium had it but opened 3 blue boy . 2013 the only negate monsters were ladd n quasar, not much books could bring out for negation consistently . however because of the type of decks they will encounter I wonder how reaper n world builds would fare , back in 2013 those builds were not as good as the 3 blue boy, 1 kyco, 1 jowgen, 1 priestess decks . i think in the crossban list cups those builds may have better match ups against decks that can swarm . was nice to see spellbooks in action maybe judgment can come back but ban jowgen hopefully konami watches your series and go oh we can unban baby rulers, judgment etc with out bs erattas .

I don’t understand the gimmick. Why do you pick a already built deck instead of just building a deck that is as good as possible vs the deck that were released at that possible time? Like main decking some trap cards instead of Veilers for example

So close for Spellbooks, but that last hand was garbage. Three Blue Boy equals RIP. I'm going to say Gouki pulls off the win here 3-2. Honestly the next match is likely a go first and win scenario.

3-2 in favor of Gouki. I played the Gouki v. HERO matchup a decent bit back in the day, and it was definitely winnable, but Dark Law is a huge issue

The games were close because Dinos were maining DNRM even after siding, when they should have been hitting backrow instead. If they had some copies of Twin Twisters in the side it would have easily been 3-1. Dinos look super vulnerable to stun with that list, only 2 Lightning Storms to deal with the set 5 decks, and 3 copies of something niche like System Down. Could have at least switched to Evenly from game 2 onwards for the blowout factor.

You act like Dinos are a better deck, remember this is Spellbooks from 2013. Dino would be trash if Spellbooks had access to newer cards.

@@andrepayne4349 Of course Dinos are better, Spellbooks have a massive engine and are super normal summon reliant, certainly way more than Dinos. Dinos have a non-HOPT ROTA at 3, an archetypal handtrap that protects them against effects and doubles as a combo enabler/extender, and is one of the few decks that can easily clean an Adaman board with Buster lock going second if they open DRNM because the Ovi/UCT core is that strong. I'm not even saying that Dinos are the ultra strong or that Spellbook of Judgment isn't a nutty card, but people are too starstruck by the fact Spellbooks could contend with Dragon Rulers 7 years ago, despite the fact many modern decks clobber both of them hard and the one that would actually be very powerful nowadays if it had all cards unlimited and access to modern tools is Rulers, not Spellbooks lol

@@andrepayne4349 Yeah, I watched the Dino player not siding out DNRM against a deck that only has 1 monster floodgate and sets 4 cards in the backrow, makes me wanna pull my hair out. Dinos go against plenty of decks that have modern tools like the Extravagance and the Solemn Brigade at 3, the only *real* difference against a Jowgen lock is that Pankratops is not an out to it.

@@craterdestroyer3604 If it is only dark law suplex + twistcobra is enough, but dystopia + dark law is a problem. Ghost ogre/ash in Vision HERO increase is huge, nibiru is also huge against gouki
