First speedrun of this that I managed to finish and also the first eggplant run under 10 minutes. Lots of time to save still but I'm happy with this time considering it took me so long to finish a good run of it.

I didn't get why he was destroying the Kali alters until I realized... He needed the ball and chain to destroy the moai head to get the eggplant thru. Clever

and he had to bring along a special character to hold the staff for him which dont the characters not show up once gotten? so if you run out of characters this run is pretty much impossible unless you bring in your own buddy yeah?

Whoever figured out that a secret item could be used by a diffrent secret path to 1 shot the secret boss. Excluding the fact that getting to that secret path meant ether using a hired hand or a friend to get that stuff to Yama in the first place.

Fun fact if you complete a level within 20 seconds there’s no chance of the next level being a dark one the maker made that rule so they didn’t mess up speedruns. Also that speed run was FRICKEN AWSOME!

@@kemixxx7 it doesn't explode when it hits something, only when whipped, crushed, or it hits the ground fun fact, if you time it right you can pick one up while it's falling and go explode some other area (NOT RECCOMMENDED)

He definitely used a particular seed and practiced the same dungeon. He knew exactly where everything was on each level. Not saying there's anything wrong with it, just that there wasn't any RNG. He knew what to expect and exactly what to do.

Bruh, Temple tip for Spelunky 1; Bring piles of bombs and some paste. Helps with Anubis and mummies which are the most dangerous things in the area.

It's not an exploit, everything was entirely within what the game developers intended to be possible, and locking the seed would be cheating and thus not qualify for the world record (which this run holds)

Dimitri Kipper At release, no, but it was later supported by a patch to turn breaking the Moai head from a glitch into a feature. This run was made after said patch (notice the Moai head having destruction graphics) so my point stands.
