I decided to ride Amtrak Pacific Surfliner #774 from San Juan Capistrano to San Diego to avoid heavy traffic on the 5 South. This video contains footage from both locations, and also footage shot on the train.. passing through places such as: Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Cardiff by the sea, Sorrento Valley & the Old town arrival. I sat in the 3rd car back from F59PHI #450. Unfortunately, i ended up sitting on the east side because the train was super crowded.
6:48) Train #2 - Coaster train, with F40PH #2105 arriving into the old town station.
8:05) Train 3 - (Old Town San Diego) Amtrak Pacific Surfliner #580 running 36 minutes late, with F59PHI #457 in the lead with a very nice sounding K5LA!
8:50) Train #4 - (Sassafras street) Amtrak Pacific Surfliner #591, with F59PHI #453 leading the 9 car long Delmar block train. 453 is supported by a great sounding 3rd gen K5LA.
10:19) Train #5 - (Sassafras street) Amtrak Pacific Surfliner #582 running 7 minutes late with F59PHI #462 leading the way, and great K5LA action !!!
11:12) Train #6 - (Sassafras street) BNSF freight train!!! GEVO #8279 leading the way. This video doesn't come close to giving great prospective on how LOUD the horn was !!!
Train #7 - Coaster train, with F40PH #2105 once again.
13:04) Train #8 - (Old Town San Diego) Amtrak Pacific Surfliner #784 running about 20 minutes late, with F59PHI #460 leading.
14:17) Train #9 - (Old Town San Diego) my train home.. Amtrak Pacific Surfliner #595, with cabcar #6907 in the lead.
15:02) back to San Juan.
15:54) (San Juan Capistrano Train Station) BNSF Freight train, with 60+ cars.
