Um, that is the final product? Maybe the camera isn't doing it justice, but t looks like it is just the base layer. No topcoat? The surface looks really rough in spots. Best of luck with it. I really do hope it lasts.
@user-vw7ul8xz3mАй бұрын
all top coat no base. never saw that before. Usually 2 1/2" base then 1 1/2" of top. Hope it lasts and doesn't give you problems.

Looks great BUT, if that were mine I would be making them do it the right way. That blacktop job is really poor quality. It should be smooth as glass and not all porous and grainy looking. I would definitely have a conversation with them about it. Hate to see someone spend good money on bad work.
@christinestill730310 күн бұрын
Yes, get new drain diverters. It will wear away the blacktop.

We used a bigger version of that machine when I worked for the DOT and it gets SUPER HOT on that thing especially if your the ground guy! You gotta be on point with it. Glad to see you guys making progress and I wish you guys the best of luck with the storage facility. Keep hustling!

I done that type of work for 4 years on my life should put some cones or caution tape up for at least 24 hrs and just be easy with the salt and remember to seal coat next year and about every 2 years after
@deionsharpe5139Ай бұрын
Sean, I would still put those concrete catchers underneath the spouts, so it will slow down ANY weathering it can cause, especially in HEAVIER RAIN fall, but that is just My opinion, have a good evening 🌆✨
@Jakeplayz659Ай бұрын
Seems like common sense, really.

That asphalt is going down at 350 - 390 degrees. I did that kind of work back when I was in my 20s. You can actually cook corn on the cob in the hopper of the paving machine .we would remove the silk from the fresh ears of corn and wrap it in foil and then bury it under a shovel of hot asphalt for about 20 - 30 minutes. It made for a nice Hot lunch while waiting for the next truck to show up.
@donaldcostello8312Ай бұрын
Its binder which is a bigger stone which goes under the top coat, the top coat goes on top with a smaller stone to pack better.
@andrewgreen6844Ай бұрын
The making stores containers now where are they take them and make them into storage units
@raygreene73Ай бұрын
As to extra units a lot of the local storage places here use 20x8or 10x8 sea cans as ye call them they look well if all the same colour
@groundcontrol2795Ай бұрын
Man, there is just SO much porosity in this...I am sorry to see this. Yes, it IS going to cause problems, even with heavy sealer. This lot could literally be gone back over with an infrared unit and rebonded and smoothed. It looks like they got to far ahead with the paver and/or weren't right with the program (late) with the rollers. Some freezing/thawing cycles will certainly show the difference. 😢

WOO HOO‼️ Been a long wait for this. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I live in the Pacific Northwest - rain central. Concrete guys here usually recommend splash locks like yours of gutter extensions to divert rainwater off driveways etc. Don’t know if asphalt is the same.

That asphalt road leading to ur facility looks like crap, that’s a 4 inch pothole on that manhole cover. I understand it having to be under 2 percent grade for ADAs but it looks like that company didn’t mill dowm far enough. Also that so called “finish” coat looks like base. Maybe too cold laying it down. You can also already see what’re holes from off grade. They weren’t on lunch break it seems like a long trip to and from the plant. Horrible pave job
