Crazy the difference in the levels of facilities for athletes and students at these big programs vs small D1. This is like a small city for food options and next level nice. It is a little dated compared to a few new ones but overall it's legit. I won't name any names of others that are still in 1990s.

I agree with Spencer's comments in his "Moeller" score that the facilities seemed dated. Its not bad, but the athletic training facility looked straight out of the 1980s compared to the one in the Ohio State video.

I could have been here had someone in my family decide to cut off any chance of my soccer career happening. I played for 5 in a half years straight when I was younger, ended up being team captain for a big private team in my city. For 2 years straight. Played any position they needed me in, however I was my best when I was in center mid or left winging. I was young, learning, and experienced. And going onto highschool in a couple years, where I could have easily made a name for myself as I love the sport. Could have gotten a full ride to play for Penn State or anybody thats around that scouts our players. However my mom decided to sign me out, 5 years into a successful run of a sport. Because I had gained some weight and I wasnt losing it by playing soccer. That potential destiny to even make it pro and be set for life. While doing what I love was completely cut off by greed and hatred for me. That is one thing I can never forgive her on. A couple years of being unconditioned and I get into highschool, and there is no chance for soccer there. Everyone on the teams were me, except they got to continue and develop as players. Where I gained more weight, lost my touch, and just didnt give a shit anymore. Now im college hitting the books. I guess I learned a lesson however on how not to be a complete trashbin of a parent.

I have a story similar to yours. I played as a striker from 10 to 15 years old at the Santos Football School in my city (the team where Neymar started his career, I'm Brazilian). I was by far one of the best, my coach was thinking about sending me to São Paulo to play with the main sub 15 team, but my parents wouldn't let me because they thought I had to finish high school first. At 16 there was no category for me at Santos anymore and I had to move to a bad quality football school where 99 00 01 and girls played together for lack of players, a complete mess and no opportunity. Today I'm 21 and the last time I played soccer was when I was 17.

@@userdeleted5979 It actually hurts when I come back to watch some football or play with friends. I'm reminded of a robbed destiny. Even if I stopped at college, at least I got there. But it was stripped away. Heh my favorite is when I last played 2 years ago in my highschool. Me out of shape, fatter, and haven't played for 5 years at that point. Completely played around with every kid on the opposing team in gym, 4 of whcih were on the official hs team. They even spoke to me after asking where I got my skills at because they couldn't stop a fat out of shape random senior in gym class soccer. (It was out in the field that they actually play games in as well). Just makes me laugh. Now im too old (20) to even continue or go anywhere. For any sport lmao. Hey at least when I have kids, I'm going to put my lost potential and future onto them. And if they enjoy it, I will make them into superstars

@@lilkurva180 Hey man 20 is still young, still have 5+ years until your body fully develops. You'll probably never play EPL or MLS but there are plenty of options if football really is your passion. I live in Australia and players who play in our state leagues get paid enough to make a living, met players that played professionally in South East Asian leagues (Indonesia, Thailand etc), glorious lifestyle. My cousin played div III college for a scholarship moved to Australia after not touching a football in 7 years and was a low level state player in his first season back. If you're more concerned about big $$$ best stick with the books, but if you are passionate about the round ball it can still be your life.

Get him onto an MLS Next Academy asap. Best thing you can do for him. I took a gap year and played on an MLS Next Academy this year and my whole team except for 2 players went d1. I went NAIA because I found an NAIA school that fit me better, but I also had chances to play D1. I was also all state for Highschool my senior year along with a couple of my friends and we didn’t get any d1 or even d2 offers coming out of highschool. I didn’t get a single college offer at all until I joined an MLS Next Academy.

Bree. If he was that good and already in 11th grade, he'd be playing with a top traveling team or academy team already. By this time, colleges have already scouted most future recruits. He needs to dominate his high school team and have the coach work for him in making college contacts, then he needs to get on the best traveling team in your area.
