Hello Shelby & Bill! Thanks for sharing your time with us. 😊Thank you for showing us the garden and the kitty cat. So thoughtful of Bill to leave water for the bees and other creatures! We went out of town to Lake Superior for a couple of days. We enjoyed walking the beach looking for agates and other pretty rocks. We are home now and catching up on cleaning. We have been getting rain but after two years of drought, I am thankful for the rain! 😊❤😊

The stray kitty Dana is beautiful. Thank you so much to taking care of her 😻. We do animal rescue, we have 11 cats-all rescues. The summer heat is just as hard on outside animals as the cold weather. TNR is an amazing program. Loved spending “time” with you guys ❤❤

Yes, shepherds pie……my mother made that a lot because my dad loved it so much. Being French and Irish ☘️ my mom made that and also corn beef and cabbage. Every St. Patrick’s Day ☘️. I also married an Irish man! My wonderful husband that has been the best help after having shoulder surgery which I told you. I am still going twice a week for physical therapy and it has been a rough road. Thoughtful happy mail and beautiful card. Stay cool. Hugs. 🥰.

So important to take care of the nature and the wildlife during this extreme heat. Your Asia lilies, we called them Tiger Lilies beautiful shades of orange. Nice version of shepherds pie, I prepare meat for dh, even though I'm a pescatarian. I've never had a frozen Coke, is that from a chain restaurant or a local specialty? stay cool and well and thank you for sharing your adventures, so much fun!!!

Frozen cokes you can get from places here like McDonald's, burger King, Cumberland farms, or you can make them yourself in an ice cream maker 😋

I make potpourri pies with the scent of lilac. I actually have over 30 different scents I use for them. They're really cute & look like real pies, especially since I cut the felt with my pinking shears!

I have a stray cat coming to my house too! The research I’ve done said wet cat food is the best because cats don’t tend to drink water. Feeding twice a day is sufficient. I am very lucky because I have 2 discount stores in my area to get 3oz. pouches and cans for .25! It’s eating about 5 a day because I think it’s a young cat. I’ve always had dogs so this is all new to me. 😂😂Our humane societies around here are loaded with cats, some aren’t even taking any more in. So sad.

That's a good deal on cat food. We've had lots of cats over the years. We just currently can't bring any indoors. Ideally it's best when we can trap them and have them spayed and release them again. That's costly unless you can work with a rescue.

It has been over 100 degrees daily here in New Mexico, but we have dry heat, except during monsoon season. I don't know how y'all cope with the humidity. My fur babies just lay around trying to stay cool also. It looks like this heatwave is coast t I coast. Stay cool!❤❤❤

Yes..it can be 70 and with high humidity it's horrendous. When I was in the southwest the 100 plus dry heat didn't bother me..just felt like when I open my oven lol

I dont have a target store, but i wish they would go back to having items for $1 , if they did maybe some of the other stores would as well. McDonald's could even bring back their $1 menu. I was thinking of shepherds pie the other day, when i make dishes like that, casseroles, i make a small one for my dad and brother. Ive seen in some of the hauls that dollar tree is putting out fall flowers. I think back to school is next but im not sure.

Our target has really scaled back the $1 items..they have some but not like the old days for sure. The Walmart here also has a dollar spot section. But not a lot for one dollar. Most is 3 and 5 dollars. I agree mcdonalds is so expensive now

How did you do the potatoes? Did you just mash them and put on top of the meat? How long did you bake it for and what temperature

Yes..mashed them and mixed in some shredded sharp cheddar cheese. Cooked it at 375 for 40minutes..I cook it until it starts to bubble at edges and a knife inserted at center comes out hot to touch

Omg Shelby you don't have ac? Not even one?!!!!!! Can you tell us the reason? They aren't that expensive to use. And soooooo worth it. Even one in the bed room. You could go in there to cool off to sleep and it would be better on your poor dogs. I can't imagine!!!

Was built in 1920..no central air. We grew up with fans..I like feeling cool but don't love AC and electricity is so expensive here

@@achickplus3We had a split air system installed in the kitchen and two bedrooms, a bit pricey to get installed but they cool our modest ranch house nicely and the electric bill hasn’t been horrible. We are in NY state, the Southern Tier. I do not do well in the heat. My brother has an 1890’s small farmhouse, he just had one put in only the kitchen. Helps with the cooking heat.
