I think a gothic style cathedral on the upper platform with a square in front would really spice the higher part of the city up:) Especially as it would rise above the other buildings

I think an engine shed would fit really well. An old industrial building like an engine shed makes a good visual transition between the newer city and the old half timbered village.
@xianartman11 ай бұрын
Agreed, the simpler connection would work fine, and I worry about space for a train shed, but I think it would be nice.
@Matty1278711 ай бұрын
Looking at the space, do you think it could support a switch off the main line running into another switch that connects to the other track but still have off the opposite side of the switch to go into an Engine shed too?

It doesn't make sense though to cut a second tunnel under the city that leads to nothing but an engine shed... building tunnels isn't cheap and for the city to do it there must have been a reason. If it connected to the other track, it would make much more sense.
@Phantomous11 ай бұрын
I’d definitely go for an engine shed. Connecting the tracks would make it difficult to fill them up with anything different than vegetation. Eager to see what you will come up with!

That’s what I was thinking!!! It would bring so much life to that area. I think an engine shed but block the view and connecting that other track feels redundant to me. A pond would be amazing! A cute little dock? 🥺

I think that you could turn that extra railroad into an abandoned one that used to be used, as I'm always seeing some of those all over the place.

Personally, I really like the idea of an engine shed. If Thomas has taught me anything, it's that trains need a place to sleep, too.
@Jaydenfok11 ай бұрын
im not 100% sure if it would fit but the empty space with the train siding could be used for a logging mill, using the siding as a loading platform for logs. you could try and slightly modify the river as well to make a water wheel.

There are a couple of things you could add to that empty space between the tracks: 1. An industiral style building, like a factory 2. A lake with kayaks and boats 3. Train shed
@ZaberZlayer711 ай бұрын
I love the improvements you've done for your city. In my opinion,having an Engine House for the trains would 0be incredible, as it could be where trains are stored and repaired/upgraded. hope you have a wonderful day!

I vote for the engine shed. It would add a bit of variety to the railroad system :)

I like the idea of the train yard in that space! You could also make it a train historical monument in the area between the tracks to show off an old lego steam train model and have it be a type of tourist attraction
@jaypeeters11 ай бұрын
Definitely a shed with a turntable outside, if you add a turntable you can also connect the other train track at any angle you want.
@B4T4LI411 ай бұрын
Would definitely connect the 2 tracks. It wouldnt make sense for the track to end in an engine shed from the main station platform. You could always make a siding from that track afterwards if you want to fill that space up. Love the updates so far!
@-Hari-0311 ай бұрын
i think connecting the tracks will allow for a bit more open space and will allow the village to feel a bit more distant from the nice new city
@tanguyruchti11 ай бұрын
The engine shed is the best option for me. An old style with the CFF Crocodile inside would look very good ❤
@fernandoruiz491911 ай бұрын
Awesomew work! In my opinion, connecting the rail to the village station makes total sense BUT there needs to be a reason for a siding so near the main line. As there are a lot of trees everywhere and you already have a train loaded with logs, it might make sense to add a sawmill with its own loading station, maybe with a crane and some sheds too. That kind of building could help making sense of the transition needed between the rural area and the more functional and modern area near the harbour/docks. Also a train depot would be awesome, but why not both? Keep up the good work, mate!
@idk-lz4nl11 ай бұрын
I think that it would be an interesting addition to see an open-air auditorium somewhere in the city. Unlike a theatre, visitors to the museum would also be able to see the entirety of the structure which could allow it to be used for more storytelling.

Love the hills! They really add a nice coziness to the town
@migueldenboer518611 ай бұрын
I think a engine shed could look good right there. Currently you've got mostly residential areas and it would be nice to see a tiny bit of more industrial space
@MacheTheFerret11 ай бұрын
Hidden somewhere in the city should be a building who's interior looks like a mini replica of your lego museum itself. Something meta :P
@holdencawfield966411 ай бұрын
I personally love the idea of just connecting the train tracks instead of a train yard because that leaves more opportunities for train views of the lego city!
@carriemaxwell469511 ай бұрын
Your updates are worth the time they take because each one presents us something new and we can see the literal change in the city/scenery. Plus, you also have the actual building itself to continue renovating so your time is precious and we recognize that. You're doing an excellent job 👏
@bjrn-oskarrnning274011 ай бұрын
I think a connection would be best in that corner; the engine shed (which would also be really cool) can be placed somewhere else. If you leave the triangle between the tracks open, it'd make a nice field for that very brave deer (and its children, maybe?)
@beachhouse1311 ай бұрын
I've commented on this before, but not sure if you ever saw it. I really think you need some disused infrastructure, especially around the railroad tracks. It is so common to see disused spurs with vegetation growing around it some old buildings or foundations. I think instead of an engine shed (or in addition) add an old goods yard with buffers directly beyond the points, but the tracks continuing on. Then, as I said before, you can fill in with vegetation and have the old platform foundation.

Putting an engine shed on that siding would take up a lot of space, obscure the view of the old town and draw the viewer's attention away from the old town. I think a siding with some lumber wagons and a timber yard would be low profile and provide lots of opportunities for good little stories. It would fit right in because it's already next to the forest and there are already lumber wagons in your existing rolling stock!

Engine shed can use the space creatively, and if possible, the train track could run through the engine shed and still connect to the tracks.
@mitchellyates939711 ай бұрын
These updates are really awesome! Maybe for the background hills beyind the timber houses, you could add something to break it up a little to keep from getting repetitive. Maybe a radio tower, or a small radar dome which are often found in higher places, or even just a few more rocks or trees or something. But maybe that would distract too much from the things in the foreground.
@mattikuusinen975311 ай бұрын
Beautiful work! Absolutelly love it. To your question: Engine shed for sure! Red brick, not too high so it doesnt block the road too much. Cant wait what tou do next!
@uprzejmypiesio687511 ай бұрын
Fantastic work on your Lego city! The attention to detail and creativity you bring to each build is truly impressive. I've been following your channel for a while now, and I wanted to suggest adding a cargo train station to enhance the transportation aspect of your city. Instead of connecting the rails to the another, you can build there some sort of end of tracks for cargo loading and deloading. Keep up the amazing content, and I can't wait to see how your city continues to evolve!
@harrybull692911 ай бұрын
Love these update! keep it up! ❤👍
@jaws1241311 ай бұрын
Connecting the rails together would make a proper connection for a loop, but an Engine Shed does sound better. Though if there is enough room with the switch track that connects to the rest of the tracks you could put a small engine shed/workshop right by it. And maybe what makes that engine shed special is we can see Lego people are working on restoring an old steam engine or doing general maintenance or either another engine or rolling stock.

With the risk of sounding like a broken record, I also think an engine shed would be the right choice for the empty track. Partly because, as someone else said, it's an excelent transition with a victorian age building between the old town and the modern city, and also because as of right now the trains just "exist" in the city, the shed would give their existence context and sort of wrap up the trais' story nicely.

i think that connecting if possible is the better option for flow, maybe a small station to make it reasonable, but your idea of having the engine shed for actual utility is a better use of space, rather than making one that is more looks than functional. i suppose only you could maybe combine the two with something under the table but that seems a bit much, look forward to the next update!
