to be fair amsterdam is a unoriginal tourist trap. it stole its ideas mostly from cities around it, absorbing their namesake. If you want a fun time do not go to our biggest cities at all.

I love the Netherlands! I been over a number of times including a few football trips. The Dutch fans are amazing They treated us like rock-stars. I didn't get to see much of Rotterdam but we got to eat in that amazing market. That hotel looks so nice. Dutch people really get life. It's nice to see you have fun. especially on your B-fay.

Van harte gefeliciteerd! (Happy Birthday) and welcome to the Netherlands. Real friendship is amazing, up lifting and priceless. So I can imagine that spending your birthday with an unexpected friend(s) made it really special to you. Being born and raised in Amsterdam I still recognize the beauty and lifelines of the city. It's part of me. We Amsterdammers tend to be quite competitive to Rotterdam, but I admit it has a different beauty to it. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. You should come back though 'cause the Netherlands has so much more to offer then those cities. It's worth exploring so many other places!! Maybe an idea for your next birthday? 😁 Have a great life and thanks for sharing this experience.

The real Bram Ladage, I only went to the Gouda one as it's the only one I know, make the best fries EVER. Together with some mayo and peanutsauce. You're enjoying perfection :) And to go on with Gouda. You can better go here for an actual stroopwafel, as it's the place it's originated. And you get less of a long line and more for your bucks to. I am not sure if the one in the Markthal is as good as the one in Gouda. But, it's a good advice to go to from your friend. The Markthal is AWESOME!
