Sperlonga has been “Bandiera Blu” certified for over 20 years; The Blue Flag is an international prize, awarded to seaside tourist resorts that comply with criteria relating to sustainable land management.
The Blue Flag is awarded annually on the basis of compliance with a series of parameters relating to the quality of bathing water, environmental management, beach services and safety, and environmental education but also on sustainable land management criteria such as purification, waste water, separate waste collection, environmental initiatives, tourism and professional fishing.
