@@Cashgrain reason I said Eiht to is because both Eiht & Spice are peers & they both being in the game around the same time. No disrespect to Richie Rich or them but Richie Rich came out a bit later than Spice 1. He been in the game before but then he been in & out of jail & he went to jail & he missed out a lot between 91 till like 95. That's why he dropped two albums in 96 at one time to make up for the time he's been away so I don't think he got enough hits to go against Spice 1 but it would still be a great versus but Eiht is just the better one & he got a better catalog to. Finally The East Bay Gangsta!! Been listening to Spice 1 since '92, a year after his first album dropped & right before 187 He Wrote came out. Welcome To The Ghetto, 187 Proof, In My Neighborhood, Young Nigga, etc. had me hooked. Classic first 3 albums and his 4th & 5th albums were fire too. Too Short, E-40, Ant Banks, Dru Down, Mac Mall & Andre Nickatina also put me onto the Bay along with Rappin 4 Tay, Jacka, Luniz, Celly Cell, D.U. & Richie Rich keepin my trunk thumpin back then. So many East Coast cats, especially here in Dirty Jerzey, respected that Bay Area hip hop, some cuz of the New Jersey Drive soundtrack, some realizing how dope & gangsta that shit was, some cuz of the quality of production sounding so good in the car (if u had a system)..we came up on Kool G. Rap, Rakim, KRS, BDK, Slick Rick, Wu Tang, Lord Finesse, Tribe, etc. but that sound was boom bap..dusty ass samples & drums hittin hard but in a different way. Bass lines and mixing & mastering were different in the South, West, Midwest & East Coast. Loved MC Eiht & Spice 1 collabos.
