This scene as a little gay boy showed me there was a world where I would be accepted for my character and individuality. Thank you to the Spice Girls for always embracing the community even when society wasn't on board yet. 💕💕🌈🌈

I was 8 when this movie came out, and was obsessed with the Spice Girls. I got this and the VHS with all of their music videos on it for my birthday that year, and it was the best birthday present ever. Wanted to be like Mel B too

In my town we have 90’s night , one day they had Spice Girls 90’s night - the bar was so overcrowded (pre covid) majority couldn’t get in - there was actually a group of girls who wore costumes of each girl. Tower District was pop’n and all the rest of the bars had to play Spice Girls I just remembered bar hop’n and someone screaming “OH BABY SPICE”

It’s a movie so I’m sure the club was shut down for recording and all the people in the club were cast as movie extras so they were all aware they were in the club with the Spice Girls and aware they were in the movie

@@alexisdior90 I get these people in the movie are not real ravers.. but extras. It’s just the idea of the spice girls going into the biggest club in London (in 1997 at their height) and no one bats an eyelid. If this were real the people would die in a crushing stampede I expect.

London is similar to New York City, in the sense that people from the city are so used to seeing celebrities that it isn’t really a big event when they go to a club. Hence why celebrities tend to prefer living in big cities

So glad they made this movie.. it totally encapsulates that moment in time and just makes you happy with nostalgia. It was right on market for their personalities and brand, which is why it was so successful.. they stayed true to themselves.
