Ingredients
- 300 ml oil
- 2 tablespoons white cumin seeds
- 1 cup onion, finely chopped
- 500 grams potatoes, thinly sliced into round pieces
- 1 1/2 cups tomato paste
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1/2 tablespoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
- Fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped (for garnish)
Method
1. In a wok, heat 300 ml of oil.
2. Add 2 tablespoons of white cumin seeds and let them turn light brown.
3. Add 1 cup of finely chopped onions and fry until they turn golden brown.
4. Add the thinly sliced potatoes (500 grams) to the wok.
5. Add 1 1/2 cups of tomato paste, salt to taste, 1 tablespoon of red chili powder, 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder, 1/2 tablespoon of coriander powder, 1/2 tablespoon of garam masala, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper powder.
6. Mix everything well, then cover the wok with a lid. Cook until the potatoes are tender.
7. Once the potatoes are cooked, sprinkle finely chopped fresh coriander leaves on top for garnish.
8. Transfer to a plate and serve hot with chapati. Enjoy!
