4 жыл бұрынHeading back to Asia after the New Year making a stop first in Taiwan and then Japan.
But before then, it was on to my favorite dumpling shop in the bay area Din Ding Dumpling and the trying some noodles out at Bing Dumpling.
Soon as I landed in Taiwan went to Wulao hotpot for the first time and then a little snack in a local Taiwanese night market.

@@jzizzles7799 YEP. CHINA IS THE CULPRIT. They had a level 4 bio lab next to the live animal food market, and the biohazard got out due to poor sanitation and training by the Chinese government. Probably not a good idea to have a bio lab in such close proximity to locations that are heavily populated.

Advise from a nurse: masks are great at attracting germs, so don't ever touch one once you've worn it. Always take it off by using the straps.

I used to teach staff to grab the front of the mask with the gloved hand and just pull it straight off to transfer it to the contaminated trash bin, and then remove the gloves and wash hands. Masks were usually damp from breathing and sweat, and we did culture all kinds of interesting bugs from both sides of them. This method kept from contaminating the ear area with dirty gloves or hands, which could be spread by subsequently touching them.

Firstly,thank you Mike for letting us view your trips. Something I'll never be able to do to see other places,peoples and wonderful foods. But, I do cook fabulously well, and to mention restaurant quality is an insult to my cooking according to my bf and munchkins. I say the restaurant quality is that I don't have to cook, I get to experience another chefs vision and I get waited on. Plus I don't have to do the dishes ... Eat on my friend. In that you're a friend to all your fans. You are so thoughtful to us with your bravery in travelling to exotic places and no matter what it is,you respect the culture and will try it. Even that poo stinking fruit. LOL always say I'll try anything, but....I've learned that some things you have to say no to.

It has just occurred to me that no matter what you're going through or where you have to be that your main priority is reviewing food for us (and that's why we're all here). I really appreciate this. Hello! You have no idea how glad I am to see you going on this trip. I have an upcoming trip in like 5 weeks with the same itinerary (SFO > TPE > HND > SFO) and needless to say, I'm super nervous about Japanese customs on my way from Taipei. But this video made me feel more calm about at least the first leg of the trip. I hope I get to see your Taiwan > Japan leg before I take off!

Man I watched so many of your hot pot videos I ordered a nice electric hot pot unit and it will be here tomorrow. I can't wait to eat like Mikey. I have an amazing Asian market nearby, they have all the super-thin-sliced meats, etc. and seasoning for broth, everything. So I thank you for introducing me to this wonderful cooking method and style.

You inspired me to try hot pot. I tried it for the first time yesterday and it was amazing. I couldn't do the poached egg like you, it got stuck on the ladle lol. But I definitely channeled my inner Mikey Chen while eating hot pot.
