Imo spider gwen was really dumb choice cuz they just made her as a love interest for Miles so they made her bestfriends with Peter & not his lover when actually Gwen always loved Peter for who he was & not just cuz he was SpiderMan & how this Gwen didn't fall for Peter really bothered me, they should've just made a original character for Miles to be his love interest

Tbh that part of her origin can be comparted to how Peter-616 react to the robber who killed Uncle Ben. When you consider their origins together they read almost like a mirror image of one another. In Peter's classic origin he chose not to intervene when he could have, however Gwen did choose to act but then went too far. Both instances lead to the death of a loved one and a lifetime of facing the consequences of indulging darker, selfish impulses. Without Gwen's agency in Peter's death, the whole "with great power comes great responsibility" mantra doesn't have nearly as much weight.

Even Sam Raimi's SpiderMan stopped when Norman pleaded for time out (altough he was trying to get him off guard), and he murdered a lot of people as Green Goblin. Lizard Peter didn't killed anyone, but Gwen was agitated and tried to mask her agitation by pretty much going full bravado and beating him, pushing him to the limits until she caused his heart to stop.
