Gwen is one of the greatest animated characters to ever exist. Her development which began in ITSV has progressed so much from what was on the surface a graceful,chilled Spider Person with issues only hinted at to being tormented due to her divided loyalties to Miles and Miguel and lying to her father and then becoming more confident and independent as she fought for what was right. Thanks for inspiring us Gwen

same, especially toward the end where Gwen and her dad reconciled. the way all the dark colors and messiness was washed away by the white and brighter pastel colors as soon as they hugged was fucking beautiful. It's like all the weight they've been carrying for so long was finally lifted both figuratively and literally and it brought me to tears when I saw that for the first time

From ITSV to ATSV Miles saw Gwen as one of his role model and an inspiration alongside Peter B parker. Miles believed that Gwen was a perfect girl who balanced both personal life and spider responsibility equally well. As from the Miles sketchbook and many other scenes in movie , it was clear that the small crush on her grew well into love during their time apart. But later in ATSV ,he understood that Gwen too had flaws (because she is too human )and had to hid many truth from him in order to protect him from knowing he was an anomaly which would ruin his happiness of newly becoming spiderman of his universe. Gwen didn't know how to handle her bottled up emotions besides following the rules of spider society. However finally Miles taught her "it's all possible ". And that's why she is ready to take her leap of faith and follow her heart now thus chasing into the portals until she finds Miles ,reconciles with him and bring him home safely and lastly confessing her love for him. The last conversation of her with Miles parents depicted that how much Miles meant to her. It was evident from the way she saw the polaroid picture that she was really down bad for him and could not resist her only weakness to disobey rules and visit miles once. Great video! 👍🏻😊

How do people hate her tbh, she's a traumatized teenager who was rejected by her father, basically her only remaining support pillar in her universe, and then immediately thrust into a borderline cult. Yes she made mistakes that hurt Miles and that shouldn't be excused, but at least she recognized that and is trying to make things right. great edit!!

As far as I can tell, Gwen haters take it too personal. They see Miles as a proxy for themselves, and project onto Gwen their suffering over some girl who rejected them.

Trying doesn't mean doing. As of right now the Spot could still kill Jeff and Rio. As of right now Miles could be killed in Earth 42. She got her atonement...But Miles is literally in Living Hell alone and broken, His family that MUST live could still die, That the Multiverse is still destabilized. Gwen is the direct cause of this...While I don't hate her if someone else does they're in fact justified. From Miguel's and Miles's pov's she's a Traitor that has A. Further destabilized the Multiverse. B. Broken his heart, Demanded he shouldn't exist, Demanded his Father must die because of an algorithm and unhinged mass murderer told her too. Whether you believe in the canon events or don't...Gwen's actions directly lead to making things much worse than they could've been otherwise. Miguel, Jess, Herself and even Miles literally told her this...That she NEVER should've gone to Miles. She should've stopped the Spot before he became a Multiversal Demon devouring whole realities! Then gone to Miles after his father did or didn't die in two days because of Canon...Then reconnect with and comfort him either way. It was that simple and she messed it up.

@@flamesofchaos13if the Spot was caught none of this would’ve happened, but that includes finding out about the canon’s flaws, meaning all the Spider-People live the rest of their lives letting people die because of some algorithm. 🤷 a lot of people’s criticisms of Gwen is easier said than done.

Gwen has such a tragic and emotional past. Her father betraying her and pushing her away from her world really broke her heart because he was the only person she left in her world while the other person she had was in another universe. I feel sorry for her because she was forbidden to go see miles by Miguel and Jess. And couldn’t have a relationship with miles because of the canon event and her emotional personal life. But miles taught her that it is all possible that u can do both and that she can have a relationship with him. I really do think that miles is her light because he always gives her hope that she is never alone and makes Gwen a whole different person when she is with him cause he is the only one that connects with her personally and emotionally. I love her growth throughout the movie and can’t wait to see her BTSV. GREAT EDIT.

Her father did not betray her, in fact, it was the other way around. Deep down she knew how her father would take it after so long of lies. That's why she didn't tell him the truth until she had no choice.

gwen is definitely my favourite character from the spider-verse movies, and this edit does so much justice for her character. the way all the aspects of her story are woven together here in such a short edit is outstanding, and i ABSOLUTELY loved the intensity at the end with her drumming intercutting with her relationship with her dad and also miles. amazing work !!

Dude.. We all know THAT scene with Gwen and her dad, and it was hard to watch the first time, along with the million other times i watched it after that. The way she asks, "Are you really this afraid of me?" she begs, "Please, you're all i have left," And just the way she screams here 1:30 .... Absolutely gut-wrenching, like i just couldn't take it anymore- Spectacular edit! You really are that dude that dropped the best tributes for both Miles AND Gwen and twice successfully captured everything that these characters represent, feel, and go through. Phenomenal job! 👏

The thing some may not realise fully is that the video almost feels like the movie is solely based on Gwen, which is to say the movie did such a good job at developing her character that it just fits seamlessly into the movie while feeling like an alternate storyline. That, and how beautifully this edit was made just brings that out and makes it so amazing.

This is absolutely incredible 😲😆!!! The layering dialog and emotional music portray Gwen's story perfectly. The timing of the scenes, the way they jump back & forth in time, really show how lost Gwen felt in atsv and how scared she is of losing Miles. Beautifully done! 👏 😂 Awesome job! 😆🎉

Gwen is one of the best animated characters with an extraordinary well developed arc. Only other contestant on the same level is Ahsoka from Star Wars. Both are top notch, and I love the work the team put into Gwen. Her facial expressions, her voice acting, everything felt so real. 🙂

I dont understand how people can hate gwen and then turn around and obsess over miguel. She's a child- dealing with a lot of trauma and all of her mistakes and "akwardness" was just coping mechanisms to stop things from worsening, either hurting herself or losing more people she needs in her life. Meanwhile miguel is twice her age and handled his anger extremely poorly, but people turn a blind eye to it.

I don't see how people aren't understanding that she is a teenager who thinks she owes the man who took her in her loyalty and obedience, or that she also had Jess and Peter B backing up Miguel's teachings. She's a lonely girl who is listening to three adults she trusts and people act like she's irredeemably evil for hurting Miles. I understand not wholeheartedly condemning Miguel, especially since I can relate to his feelings of bereavement and guilt and anger after losing a loved one, but it's absolutely ridiculous to not come down as hard on him as one does Gwen. He's the primary reason she did what she did and that should be called out more.

Spider-Gwen is my favorite Marvel hero by far thanks to the Spider-Verse films. She is so complex and so well-written; it really enthralls me. Not to mention her animation/art style! I loved how much deeper her story was explored in this film. Can't wait to see how her arc concludes/continues in the BTSV. Awesome, awesome job!!

Let's not forget it is heavily stated but not confirmed in the film that her mom died when she was too young. That just makes her scene with her dad even more heartbreaking. After everything she goes through in ATSV, I just wanted to hug her.

That's Gwen's/the shippers pov. Which is rejecting both versions of Miles's pov. You do realize he has more than enough reason to despise her existence. She agreed to let his father die lying to him the entire time about it and then also agreed that Miles NEVER should've existed in the first place...That every last bit of good he did for them and others is worthless. How could you forgive her or any of them for that? Then the other one has no reason at all to care for her life and every reason to consider her a threat as the Spiders are False Gods that deserve to die being no different than the Supervillains. If they use the excuse that it's all on Miguel...They're pathetic and deserve to be hated. Great Responsibility = For what *you* DO and what *you* FAIL to do.

1:22 damn this scene hit me so hard, so hard... I quit being a Marvel fan after watching so many bad projects like Secret Invasion, Ant Man 3, the Marvels, She Hulk etc ( expect Loki 2 and Gotg 3 ofc both is very good ) and I even once commented about Spider-Verse is too overrated because I forgot how good the movie is. Man, this edit makes me want to go find that post and delete my comment so bad 🤣 how can I forgot the chill feelings when watching this movie in theater. Definitely the best animated movie in 2023.
