I saw this too and the audience were pretty much laughing and enjoying the same scenes as this. Ahem the bully Maguire scenes especially. I hope this film gets a Raimi cut someday. I wish to see the doctor scenes restored, maybe the original ending and perhaps the film it should had been. If Zach Snyder gets his 4 hr JL film I hope we get the 3-4 hr cut of this one. So much was cut out. Maybe 2027 hopefully?

Once again, I'm so glad I got to see this in theaters with some dedicated friends of mine yesterday. This movie may be the weakest of the trilogy and has many flaws no doubt, but at it's core it still has an interesting story, deep themes, relatable characters, great acting, and a sense of maturity not a lot of other superhero films have had recently. Honestly if you just included all the stuff from the novelization, re-edit the film to be the order of the editors cut, have Gwen get kidnapped with MJ convincing Harry to help Peter like they originally planned, gave Venom a bigger build, a scarier voice, and more screen time, I honestly think this film would be on par with the second one. Still a phenomenal bittersweet ending to one of the greatest film trilogies ever made. 8.5/10. P.S. My friends went in blind (they did so with the previous films) and they were surprised by how good this one was considering that I was preparing them for the fact that it wasn't as good as 1 or 2.

Even though it was never Sam raimi's original plan to include Venom in the third film I think we can all agree that Spider-Man 3 wouldn't be as iconic without him and I'm still wishing to this day that we had a Spider-Man 4

I am disappointed that you people do not understand the damaged childhood and emotional abuse that Mary Jane's father subjected her to, which led to her not loving herself and it's not like Peter and Harry were saints either since Harry was only pawning her to impress Norman and Peter rejected her at the end of SM1. So she tried moving on with John while Peter tried coming onto her but she learned that she hadn't really since the couch kiss didn't feel like the rain kiss and that made her conflicted so she wanted to test if Peter was Spider-Man at the cafe and her finding out that is the case later made her more conflicted until the wedding day when she had to leave to spare them a bad marriage. And nobody here appears to grasp that Peter was an absolute dick to her with his ego going to his head and pushing her to a vulnerable state of weakness with Harry, that she immediately regretted and left.

Really wish my theater was like this. Literally nobody cheered or clapped at any of the scenes, even the ones with Bully Maguire. He wouldn't want to tell Harry his father was Green Goblin , and we saw in spiderman 2 he still tries to pull Harry away from obsessing over spiderman without doing that , it only makes sense why he'd do that without telling Harry the truth , he knows spiderman isn't at fault but wants to spare Harry the pain of knowing his father became an insane supervillain , after going to the hospital after the first fight which would give him an idea of what happened , Harry gets amnesia , so it's basically the same thing all over again he doesn't want to remind him of that just like Peter didn't , so he most likely just found out that Harry knows about Goblin for the second time , if he got an idea the first at all . Am i missing something here ? There is really no good reason for him already knowing about Harry having found out way before he had amnesia or way before this fight scene right ? Both times he'd likely be exposed to some information regarding this it all happens in a day , Harry takes the serum, attcks Peter and gets knocked out then taken to a hospital where he has amnesia since he gains consciousness. And this other time he remembers it all , threatens MJ to leave Peter then meets him to ruin him even more and in the same evening symbiote Peter is at his house .

Here's my theater experience: No one clapped at the Columbia Pictures 100 Years, opening logos, and the title. I facepalmed when Eddie showed up, clapped at the Stan Lee cameo, laughed at "How did that get in there?" and "I guess I'm something of an icon", laughed at signaling Bruce Campbell twice by mistake, I sighed at Sandman being Uncle Ben's killer (I got the fact people hate that), no one clapped at the Symbiote Spider-Man reveal, laughed at "See you chump!", clapped at Peter combing his hair down which is Bully Maguire reveal, some laughed at "You'll get your rent when you fix this damn door!", laughed at "So good", clapped after Peter bombing Harry's right side of his face, laughed at "I'm gonna put some dirt in your eye", clapped at the start of the Bully Maguire montage, no one clapped at the dance, clamored when he hit MJ, still laughing at JJJ's lines, I booed at Venom but no one booed along because they know he's the worst in this film, I started the clap when Peter pulled out his default suit and everyone clapped along and I said "I love you, Spider-Man", everyone clapped when Spider-Man entered the battle after that random child girl told everyone to look, clapped when Harry showed up with his mask showing his face at Pete, and before the movie ended with the screen fading out to black, I said "Peter 2 will return in Spider-Man: No Way Home", screen faded out to black, and just as the end credits started, I started clapping and everyone else clapped along, I sat through the end credits because of the songs from the album, just as the movie ended with the Columbia Pictures logo at the end of the end credits scroll, I yelled "Release The Raimi Cut", because I want Sony to unearth the original scenes before they went into major reshoots for the film. Yeah, it was fun.

#MakeRaimiSpiderman4 Peter still has to fix his relationship after this movie learning to put his wife before himself as Aunt May said " make it right " in time and eventually ask her to marry him , idc if Raimi makes it set after nwh where they're probably already married cuz no matter how much people got used to the SM-3 ending or were never interested enough to want the final one , this ending was only proper for a movie not the whole story of this spiderman where important stuff is still left hanging like this despite some important stuff being finished as well , there is this thing going on where people who never wanted the final movie or got too used to this ending over time saying that this closes off everything well and " perfect " even when that's all false . I even think we have a good entire arc for the last movie which fits well with the plot point SM-3 didn't finish and adds to all of this story as a whole too , being pretty awesome to be the final struggle/ lesson for this spiderman . We see that Peter was giving up on being with MJ after getting rid of the symbiote and gave back the ring to Aunt May , we see this kind of thing happen throughout the movies , he gives up on happiness or a satisfying life for spiderman which doesn't end up working well in the long run even for spiderman cuz he's only human in this aspect , can only push for so long when his personal life is in shambles and that starts affecting his spiderman job too , this is THE part that makes him human . Now u may say he got over this in SM-2 and he won't lose the powers anymore , sure , but his mental state at the very least will still get affected which will reduce his efficiency which ends up mattering a lot sometimes , this is a very real thing , even if it's not bad enough for ur body to be falling apart , that kind of mental state still prevents u from being the best u can be . Maybe it doesn't have to be this way , maybe Peter doesn't have to step back completely and outright give up on things in his personal life but just take a break and figure out the balance , maybe it's not his destiny to be miserable but just keep pushing till he makes it , cuz he IS growing he IS learning and progressing when he tries that . He has always needed others to motivate him towards doing this though , like MJ in SM-2 and Aunt May in SM-3 , and by himself he always gives up which only works in the short term . So in the final movie he should learn to keep pushing for this by himself , maybe u could have Aunt May become sick in this one playing an important role in this too ? Because last thing she wants for Peter is " make it right in time " , we could have more scenes in the new movie putting more emphasis on her wanting Peter to live a happy life. It will be even gold to have a scene like " be this my destiny " from comics in this , not sure if it should have the same Aunt May needing the cure or not , but just the trapped under rubble scene after being really tired and not being able to lift it for a good while after trying so much, but simply not settling for going down there with something like " i did my best " , no , choosing to break through his limits no matter how and not giving up anymore till the very end and finally being able to lift it off. I'm not setting up some rigid expectation of this specific scene but just making clear how a perfect final movie is still left . This theme of gaining absolute will and determination , not giving up on a sustainable life as both Peter and spiderman and finally achieving it , whether the specific scenes i mentioned are there or not . There is a possibility of this awesome final movie and its ending and people are like nah SM-3 ended things pretty well . Sam still wants to do this , i trust that if he makes it he'll make something meaningful as he said he wanted to back then , cuz he walked off in the first place because it wasn't fully ready when the studio didn't want to wait anymore , saving us from a lazy cashgrab.
