What is a good way to make alterations to a eva foam face shell? It fits in width, but i dont think the template I used was tall enough. Side note, how do you scale a premade template/pdf to fit your own head? Apologies if this wasnin the video and didnt catch it. Thanks man!

You are great and thurough, and the dog 100% earned you the subscription, lol. Do you have any info on gluing or sticking the mask to the faceshell so you dont have to adjust it so often/every time you put it on?

Thank you! I dont personally attach my masks to my shells permanently. But Ive found that coating the shell with a layer of spray on plasti dip gives the mask a better surface to attach to

14:50 I've seen some faceshells that have a bit of space between the eyes and the lenses... maybe people could try to get thin prescription swim goggles and wear them underneath?

How strong are the magnets on the lenses. Like if I use a really thick mask like a wool mask would it be strong enough. Actually I doubt it tbh

Miles, as you use your faceshells for all your suits during long photo shoots, do you have any problems with your lenses fogging up? And condensation on the inside of the shell around the nose. Any tips for that?

the only shell i have where the lenses fog is TASM2 since it’s not vented. and i normally don’t have condensation unless it’s hot summer. The masks are fairly well ventilated

Great video, sir!! What's your favorite method for keeping your fabric mask over your shells (so they stay in place)? I tried contact cement but it can show through the red fabric. I'm looking for the best method to use for all of my Spidey shells.

I don’t use anything to permanently fix the mask on. I cost my shells w plasti dip to give the mask something to grip onto to prevent slipping. But all my masks are removable:)

I did wanna ask about your experience on buying the face shell from print costume. How has that fit you because I am wondering on whether to make the process easier and buying it with the suit or going for a 3rd party seller

print costume has a one size fits all shell- third party sellers have custom sizing. the shell i’m wearing in the video is custom sized and fits better then everything else i own

Hi there! I was wondering how would you hide your hair so the mask does not deform on it. I have relatively big afro and in scared my face will look great with a shell but the top of my head will not because of the amount of compresion on my hair.

most people compress their hair with a balaclava. Should work to keep it all under the mask. unless there is alot

i personally don’t. I like to swap out masks. I use plasti dip on my shell to give the maks somthing to grip onto. but keep it remivable

print costume :) you can order solely a mask from a suit design you like. just made a recent vid showing how to do that :) code: MILES15 to save too

just depends on the plastic and construction. but you’ll lose the structure half way down ofc

probably not. You could get prescription lenses. but its most likley youre not wearing the glasses under the suit.

Hey Miles, im working on a 2099 cosplay and don't understand much with the face shell, I got the suit and face shell separate but don't know how I put it in the mask, would like some help^^

faceshell on first, then mask over it, then the lenses go on top.

yes. faceshell and lenses go together. Every lense style has a facshell that goes with it specifically. Some are interchangeable, but not many

check on things verse for free files. if you can’t find the one you want, look on google for the shell you do want :) you may need to pay for the files if you can’t find exactly what you want for free. but it’s totally worth it

What about suits that have the lenses attached to the mask?

i personally don’t get those or reccomended them for this reason, since i opt for a faceshell. But in that case, some people just use the bare shells w/out lenses and slide the mask over :)

I Got a faceshell and attached mask it was almost impossible to Get the faceshell into the mask and line up the eye holes correctly is it easier to Get a faceshell into the mask if it's Detached ? Because I have a mask with lenses attached I'm thinking of trying to slip it over a faceshell

I would always reccomend a detached mask. that amoung many reasons. It allows more movement and flexibility with the mask itsel

@@anakinmonkey so as I understand a Detached mask works best and you're supposed to put the faceshell on first and then put the mask on because I tried put the faceshell into the mask and then putting it on it was almost impossible

I got a spider man mask it's the one with the moving eye lenses and I can't breathe in it without getting the lenses foggy (breathing with my nose and mouth)

the moving eye lenses one yea that’s gonna happen sadly. the way that’s made, there’s so much in it, it’s so thick. It’s more of a helmet then a mask. especially if it’s the manufacturer one.

depends on which one you get. my TASM2 lenses are awful for visibility. But my custom mask is great!

The easiest way is to find a template online, print it out, trace it over cardboard, cut and glue it together.

So I gotta question hopefully you can answer, when I do the custom tailored fit size option and I give my head measurements and then I buy a third party face shell and lenses with the mask that comes with the suit. Will it not fit right?? Also this one is really important. Can I choose the face shell + magnetic lenses on printcostume and just buy tobey magurie Raimi lenses off of Etsy??

hey! happy to help. 1. the measurements you put in are for the fabric mask that comes w the suit. I always reccomend to overshoot the size by a 1/4-1/2 inch on the forehead measurement. to account for the shell. shells are thin so won’t be an issue but to give it some leeway that’s a safe bet 2. printcostume offers a generic faceshell option. You can get them, but they are not accurate to the tobey shell. If you want a third party shell off etsy, make sure to click the “no faceshell, open eyes” option on the mask. you’ll get just the mask, you can then slide over your tobey specific shell from etsy.

I even sent them a message on their support chat box on the website. Is that common, normal? I was trying to let them know it’d be appreciated if I could get it as soon as possible because I have a baby boy who will be born next in 3 weeks. And I would like it to be here b4 then. That’s what I told them. I just wanna know if it’s normal to not get a reply
