On paper this film shouldn't work, it has everything stacked against it: huge number of villians, multiple plot threads, large cast etc. I am so impressed with how they stuck the landing in this film and gave closure, not just for the MCU spider-man films, but to Spider-man franchise across the board. Definitely the best quality [live action] spider-man we've gotten, I can't wait to see what they do with Spider-man next; he isn't a "..kid" anymore.

It's insane, it also took on the task of closing two other runs by two other main actors. This has disaster written all over it, but man did they pull it together.

@@gleekthemonkey4570 it made me think Spider-Man 3 and Amazing Spider-Man 2 where they tried to do the multi-villain thing and it was a train wreck. @JigInsane
@JigInsane 2 жыл бұрын
@@prestonscott8214 I think thats what helps it. They aren't trying to do to much. They do enough to get ppl up to speed with them, and have some sort of purpose towards the end, built from the dialog portions earlier in the film. Lizard may have gotten the shortest end of the stick though, then Sandman. Lizard mostly, but I think if they had them do more, the movie would need to be longer and might have run into a situation of feeling like it's doing too much. What I did really like, and the theater kinda cheered a bit, is when Jamie Foxx insinuates Miles Morales while talking to Garfield.

Andrew Garfield was so incredible as his sad, near broken Spider-Man. His heart in trying to help save our Peter not go down his road as well as how absolutely his genuine happiness just radiated out of him to suddenly be surrounded by people who understood him was the soul of this movie as he represented what our Peter could become if he let his grief consume him.

I enjoyed Homecoming and Far From Home, but always felt like Tom was still just a kid in a suit. When I left seeing No Way Home, I felt like Tom had truly become Spiderman, the icon, the hero I looked up to when I was a little kid. His fight for what’s right in trying to save and redeem the villains, while believing everyone deserves a second chance really hit home :) All of this topped off with his selfless, sacrificial choice in the end was so Spiderman. I think his acting and especially Zendaya’s in this was incredible and you could really feel their chemistry on screen now relative to the first two movies.

You're right. You're so right. Before going into this movie, I would have never understood how I could possibly see Tom Holland as more than a child. Then after the big thing right before the very end, I couldn't imagine more Spider-Man movies because this child needed his support system, which are *SPOILERS* now all gone. It was really the last 15 minutes that cemented in my brain that Peter Parker is an adult and that lets my brain see Tom as one too. Now I can't wait for more movies because this tragic Peter who tries to take it on all alone before hitting that low point and bouncing back is my favorite Peter Parker and I can't wait to see Tom Holland mature through that role more.

I thought Kevin would love the mid-credits scene. It was basically a rug pull of, "Oh, you thought this Sonyverse stuff was coming to the MCU? Nope." The symbiote left behind seems to imply that the MCU will do their own version of Venom that isn't awful. Edit: just watched more and saw Tim already addressed this, totally agree. The question is, why bother with all that effort and coordination, you don’t need your symbiote to come from another universe. All I can say for this film is “finally.” This was the MCU Spidey movie I’ve been begging for. Finally, some emotional depth and maturity that’s been lacking from this iteration. Jon Watts stepped it up in every way. MCU Spidey finally has some amazing and memorable action scenes. The Goblin fight scenes were so visceral, brutal, horrific, and just left me in awe. The goddamn score!! I like Holland’s theme because it recreates the classic theme, but before now they never used it in this epic, operatic way similar to Elfman’s score that just continued to give me chills. The fucking Spider-men was a dream come true. I couldn’t believe the movie I was watching was real. The dialogue between them is so effortless, organic, and so emotional that it brought me to tears. The details is what made it for me, like Tobey saying the Chrysler building is his place to escape (from the first movie after Ben passed). Each character from the past was brought back in such a great way, with actual arcs rather than gloried cameos and fan service. This film is an absolute love letter to Spider-Man and I cannot believe it exists.

I LOVED the nod to the common saying that Garfield is the best Spiderman and Toby is the best Peter. When Ned uses magic to say "show me Spiderman", it goes to Andrew. "Show me Peter Parker" goes to Tobey. I'm sure that was intentional but even if not, I enjoyed it Edit: sooo... this is embarrassing but just rewatched, and ya... this didn't happen. Both times Ned says show me Peter Parker. Sorry! Funny how the brain works in superfans...

@@DrPantsMD i don't think people that say that mean that he was the most accurate comic book rep, more that they just liked that version of Peter Parker. The Lizard and Sandman don't die fighting Spider-Man in their movies and Doc Ock had regained control over the arms right before his death which is why I don't believe they were pulled (or not all were pulled) as they were literally about to die (like Norman with the glider) just at a moment before their death.

Can we have a third an Amazing Spiderman movie now that's overseen by Disney that follows the events of this movie (electro being alive for example), where venom is in the same universe (he did say that he wanted to go to NY to meet with Spiderman) and opens the possibility of Andrew Garfield coming back to the MCU

Willhem Dafoe was such a cartoon in the Raimi movie but man in this one he just nails this character of a split personality with his Norman side being so incredibly sympathetic as a mentally unwell person at his rock bottom pleading for help and his Goblin side being so insane and batshit evil.

Yeah, the fact that Tom's Peter barely gives any thought to when Tobey mentions Uncle Ben makes me think so. Also, Aunt May never showing any grief over Uncle Ben's passing and never even mentioning him just seems so weird. I would have liked when May says "With great power, comes great responsibility", that she says to Peter it would've been something that Ben would have said.

I think that we are meant to believe that the villains were dragged into the MCU just after they realized that Spiderman was Peter Parker: for Norman/Goblin, it was after that Thanksgiving scene, for Doc Ock, not 100%, for Sandman, it was at the end of Spiderman 3, for Dr. Conners/Lizard, it was before the school fight scene and for Electro, it was right before his death. So I think the only ones who would have died immediately after being sent back would have been Doc Ock and Electro. At least that's what I took from the film.

I think Electro not knowing Garfield’s face but being affected by the spell is likely explained by Electro’s team up with Harry in ASM2. Harry could’ve told him Spidey was Peter Parker (maybe even on screen, I don’t remember) and that wouldn’t really mean much to Max, nor would he know what he looks like.

1:24:59. Go watch the Screen Junkies Honest Trailer commentary for Far From Home. They have Toni Revolori there and he talks about it. That scene was improvised by him. His father was supposed to be the one to pick up Flash at the airport but Toni talked to Jon Watts the night before they shot the scene and convinced him it would be funnier if his parents didn't show up. His home life was not written that way; it was just a comedic choice.

The villains aren't being time traveled, they're just being sent to the place where they were previously standing; therefore at the end of the movie, they all reappear in their universe at the statue of liberty - however many days AFTER they were taken. The dilemma is that they know Spider-Man kills them eventually in a fight, therefore if they're sent back "cured" they won't be in conflict with their respective Spider-Mans anymore. (There's also a good chance Otto's Peter will be dead since he wasn't there to tell him how to destroy his fusion reactor lol)

Very subtle Easter Eggs I found: Tom webbing cars to the bridge like in ASM1 Tom has a cut on his cheek that looks like Tobey’s scar in the end fight. Tom has his hair styled like Andrews when he takes his mask off several times. Tobey and Andrew talking about how their relationships are complicated is a callback to Peter and Harry talking in ASM2 about how dating and Peter’s life in general is complicated. Andrew Vs Tobey might be a reference to that ASM2 ad where there’s a reflection of Spider-Man in a window that’s a Chibi Spider-Man that mimics him, but obviously the pointing meme works too. They also use more orchestral choir and horn for Tom’s spider-man theme when Tobey and Andrew joined as a way to add their theme elements to his, which I hope they carry forward.

As much as I do think a lot of the bad decisions in Spider-Man movies over the years were his doing, the Avi Arad tribute feels 100% like a Kevin Feige choice because Feige's a good dude that would pay tribute to one of the people who gave him his start and has been associated with Marvel since the early 90s. We tend to associate Arad with Spider-Man mostly, but he founded Marvel Studios - at the time called Marvel Films - and he started producing for them with X-Men The Animated Series. I'm sure as soon as we get X-Men in the MCU we see a tribute to Lauren Shuler Donner in the credits for the same Feige connection reasoning.
@MrGeoff-iv6re
@MrGeoff-iv6re 2 жыл бұрын
I thought it was a really interesting thing to include in the credits… and you’re right that we usually associate Avi Arad with being the one that drove the Spider-Man franchise into the ground. Props to Kevin Feige for adding that in there.
