When I was a kid, I was obsessed with Tobey's trilogy. Never did I expect that in 14 years time, the lore of that trilogy would be expanded that much and this deeply.

Maybe it's just me, but I felt that Andrew's "Magic is real here too?" was more along the lines of "Oh wow, you have all these other superheroes and villains and aliens and awesome technology, and now you're telling me magic is real here too?!" I don't think he had personal experience with magic before, but being the nerd he is, he's just excited about it. Same way he was so fascinated and grossed out by Tobey's webs. The immediate 'thwipping' at each other could be because both of them both encountered Chameleon at some point. With how good this movie is and then seeing that teaser at the end, I'm so excited for Multiverse of Madness now. It's gonna be insane in all the best ways.

Personally, I just assumed that the thwipping at each other was because they each were shocked, surprised and initially threatened by the other. After all, it was the first time either one had been to an alternate universe and seeing another version of yourself would immediately give off shape changer villain vibes. So that would have been my first thoughts if I were spiderman, so I imagine it was their's also.

The way time travel and timelines work in MCU, their timelines didn't change. In their worlds all those villains are still dead. Well, some of them. Sandman is alive and it looks like Electro didn't actually die.

when tobey said "he's been stabbed before" he's talking about the fight with harry in spiderman 3 before they teamed up to fight venom and sandman... he had the venom symbiote suit under his clothes

@Justin Arzola Doc Ock's won't change either. As the video mentioned, he got plucked during the final battle which would've ended up with him regaining control of his mind again anyway and sacrifice himself to stop the machine, which he would still have to do upon going back to his timeline. Things could've gone differently for him had he gotten plucked before that final battle ever took place

From what I understand, the way time travel seems to now works in the MCU each villain that was pulled from a past point in time will go back to create a tangent timeline. So their original movie timelines still take place, but they also created a timeline where they were saved. Also, Andrew's spiderman saying "magic is real here too" was not meant to imply magic was real in his universe. He was saying that magic was real "here too" as in, along with the other things he has learned, he has also learned that magic is real in the MCU.

Here's the thing. If you believe they go back to where they were taken from, then 2/5 (at least) die anyway. Doc Ock was transported while drowning and Electro was transported while draining the city's electrical grid (he even says he was dying in the movie). With Sandman, Lizard, and Green Goblin, we don't know where they were taken from in their timeline, but the same could easily apply. Basically, if you think they go back to where they were taken from, then they died again and made the "cure the villains" plot pointless for at least 2/5 of them, which is why I highly doubt that's what happened. The alternative (and more likely/simple explanation) is that they just went back to their Spider-Man's present and used their abilities for good.

This is weird but I'd totally be down for a separate Sony universe Amazing Spiderman 3. Andrew Garfield absolutely killed it and it's clear with No Way Home that he's an amazing (pun intended) Spiderman that just had weak plots and sloppy writing around his portrayal.

Andrew's comment about "magic being real here too?" isn't him saying he's encountered magic in his universe or a different universe, it's more likely him questioning what else is real or exists about the universe and as for the returning to points in time, I think they'll all return to their respective universes, Tobey and his villains to their universe and Garfield and his villains to theirs, but I think they'll all return in the present year, meaning Osbourne, Octavious and Electro would be resurrected in their original timeline instead of returning and branching off more timelines

My thinking is that each returns to their respective universes, but in essence, events never really took place to some extent, yet each person retains their memories of what transpired in the MCU. Maybe Tobey Spiderman returned to a reality where Norman, Otto, and Harry are alive for instance. Seems a bit redundant if they just go back to die again.

Yes that what Im Thinking, Norman, Otto, Harry alive meaning another storyline right? Because, those three would aged or not but in the same timeline with the current spiderman? So they must be in a different story, so the spiderman 123 events should be scraped by now, and changes into another reality with Norman without green goblin, Doc Ock sanity, and Harry Osborn with no contact to green goblin.

Ive almost seen Rhino, Doc Ock, Electro, and Vulture in every iteration of the Sinister 6 I've personally seen. Kraven, Mysterio, and Sandman are the 3 that I'd assume people would swap out with other characters if they were gonna change it. I'd be fine with seeing any iteration of the Sinister 6 personally but it'd feel weird without at least those 4 characters. Would be cool to see Morbius or Chameleon in it too. Same with the 3 I listed earlier.

Andrew Garfield was surprised that magic is real. He wasn't saying it's real in his reality too. That's a reach. I'm not even sure if their reality necessarily changes...what if they're just variants now? You gotta watch Loki. Now that Kang has been killed the multiverse is accessible by others because it's no longer being pruned.

Yea that was my thought as well on the magic part. But this would 100% create a branched reality for both of them. They aren't going to behave the same way as they would have if they never came to this universe. That was kind of a big part of the movie, they learned things in this film that will change how they act, especially for Andrew's spiderman.

Yeah, possible the "too" was meant as "on top of everything else, magic is real here too?" TASM was a way more grounded universe than the MCU. It's why he's shocked later about the other 2 "fighting aliens."

Yeah that's kinda dumb saying he knows about magic. He's definitely adding to the list of things that's amazed him about the MCU reality. I agree, I got the impression that they return to their realities whole and without the continuation of events that lead to their deaths. Just everyone returning to a better world than they left.

If they can revisit the Snyder-verse for justice league, we owe it to Garfield’s Peter Parker to do his story to completion. Loved this movie, Maguire will always be my favorite Spidey, I grew up with him and always compared other spider-mans to Tobey.

I see it as the fact Strange, Peter (s), Loki and Sylvie are all responsible for the multiverse of madness, when initially we thought only one of them would be to blame. It's exciting as hell because I see a fractured multiverse in store for the next couple years or so. I don't think Strange will completely fix things because we still have What If...? season 2 on the way. 😌

Usually the Time Keepers Authority would step in at the exact time and fix it. But because the 2 Lokis interfered, there was no one to stop these other timeliness branching.

MCU is just a tiny branch of the Greater Marvel Multiverse. The watcher and What If series are not bound by the Kangs hedge of a temporal tangent universe. Loki and Sylvie, and Dr Strange did cause some damage, but that is to the MCU hedged tangent. Which might be a localized effect... as the universe itself is a big place. There are thousands of watchers within one universe observe a single world after all. In the end it just allowed the other multiverse to interact with the MCU

Maybe the villains weren't returned to the times they left from, but to the "present day" of their timelines along with their Spideys. That creates 5 timelines from which each villain vanished from existence with no return, but added Norman and Doc Ock back to Tobey's timeline along with the depowered Marko; and Max Dillon and Dr. Connors back to Andrew's present day. Now, in that second timeline, are there now 2 Connors (one cured in NWH; one in jail, cured in TASM) or was NWH's Connors just a future version of the original Connors who went back to being Lizard? Also, was NY destroyed in the timeline where Doc Ock vanished?

I love how when Tobey Maguire arrives it's the oldest person in the room, Ned's Lola that's winking at Peter. Marvel's self awareness to realize that it's all the older people that are there to see Tobey's version of Peter. To draw on a line from the movie this "is our Peter!"

My guess is they either get out back right before their deaths (which is what Peter and Otto thought) of they get put back later in the timeline, at the same time as the older Tobey and Andrew (that way they don't instantly die again).

they should've shown Tobey and Andrew going back to their universe but in a different timeline where Tobey didn't cause the Green Goblin to kill himself and Andrew's timeline where Gwen Stacy didnt die....would've of been even a more happier ending for them.

I believe that Doc Oct brought back the Stark Tech Reactor (he was holding it after removing it from Electro at the end) and used that to save himself.

It wasn’t really confirmed _when_ the characters are returned. It could be a time before they were removed from their universe, or even a separate timeline where different events took place

I would assume, they probably, should be returned in different timeline right? Because the nexus event in their actual universe, you know, so many changes, and 1 or more days no peter parker on their respective universe? Even worse they could be sent back to different universes, remember, DOC STRANGE is just casting a nother spells over a spells to send back them all in one spells, like overwriting save game over and over a different save game for different version of the game, could they be corrupted?

I think it'd be great if Tobey and Andrew's spideys remember Tom Holland's spidey, and they eventually come back and recognize him. Since no one from Tom's universe remembers him, maybe they do!

I think all of this multiverse madness is going along with kang’s plan. The more variant timelines, the more kang’s, the more likelihood there will be a multiversal war, so then kang gets alioth and so the timeline resets. The marvel multiverse is one big time loop.

I like to think that the villains returned to the same point in the timeline where Tobey and Andrew came from. So, an older Tobey now has a good Doc Ock, Norman Osborn and human Flint in his time even though 2 of them died before

I thought that but judging by the trailer I don’t think Raimi would really settle for a film of just bringing back loads of old versions of characters. I think they’re gonna build up to Secret Wars next so I’m sure that we’ll see some of them in due time, but Raimi would probably rather create his own story that ties into the larger MCU story.

Seeing the three Spider brothers getting together and bonding was heartwarming, especially the part where the present day Peter has a heart to heart moment with Norman, reinforcing their father son like bond from the 2002 movie that they didn’t get to have and the middle Peter saving MJ bought me to tears

Honestly what I think happened to the villains when they got transported back to their realities is that They returned to the present but nothing in the past changed they are still dead or in jail or doing whatever they were doing in the time they came from So lizard goes back to jail Electro is alive and most likely gets a different job Sandman goes back to being with his family Norman and Otto go back, everyone presuming that they’re dead after so many years but not knowing in light of certain events they’re alive

Connors was the only one who gained his abilities on purpose. I’m sure Norman didn’t purposely intend to give himself the side effects, Otto’s arms weren’t fused on purpose, and Flint and Max gained their powers completely by accident. After Curt’s initial transformation, he fully intended to continue. With that in mind, depending on when Connors was pulled from the 2012 movie, if he’s returned to that point, the rest of the 2012 movie could be virtually unchanged. I believe Flint and Max were pulled from their respective “presents”, so to speak. Flint might’ve lived his life up to the point that he was yoinked, and, iirc, Max talked about being overcharged and pulled into the power grid prior to his appearance in NWH. As for Otto, he might’ve figured out a different way to stop the reactor without drowning himself (but the flip side could also be true). So that leaves Norman the only one whose destiny was drastically altered. Also, TASM3 could be a perfect opportunity to adapt the Clone Saga

Doesn't make much sense to me, since they were pulled out from different times, so there would have to be additional timelines created where they just vanished. I feel like it makes a lot more sense to think that they went back to the times they were pulled from, rather than just suddenly skipping several years into their futures.

Basically the multiverse is here and our other Spidermen and their villains and loved ones are here to stay in the MCU multiverse. Opens the door for X-men and others to come here too. Anything Sony makes can be under the umbrella of their universe. And vice-versa for Marvel. Then team up at any time with any heros when they want for combined universe team up.

I think you’re misinterpreting the “Magic’s real here, too?” Line. I think he’s just surprised that magic is real along with everything else he’s seen in this universe. Not necessarily that magic existed in his timeline. Everything in Garfield’s timeline was more reality and science based
