I read Bruce Campbell's biography of him and Sam Raimi and Sam's brother breaking into filmmaking (called themselves "the Michigan Mafia") with the Evil Dead movies. Bruce said Sam had a tendency to abuse his actors, as in the original Evil Dead film, when Sam strapped Bruce into a frame on the front of Sam's car (the same one seen in "Army of Darkness.") and drove like mad through the woods to get that "onrushing demon" effect. Sam kept it up in "Spider-Man" with Toby as well. When Toby falls and is hit multiple times by a book bag as people go by -- that was Sam laying it to Toby.

And sam rami caught the idea of organic webbing because James Cameron almost made a spider-man movie with Leonardo DiCaprio. He also explained that it wouldn’t make sense that a high schooler would be able to create that device, and that organic webbing would be an easier option. I’m a fan of tobey and andrew, but i seriously hate it when people blast at fans that like the rami triology, or use that lame nostalgia excuse.
