@@rubyll919 He was very immature in the first movie. He uses his new-found powers immediately for money and material worth. He cared at the beginning about "getting the girl" more than what could have done for the city. He isn't immediately illuminated by Uncle Ben's wisdom. Even after Ben's death, Peter uses his power to attempt avenging Uncle Ben. He fails, thankfully, but he isn't that mature in his origins. He's also vain in Spider-Man 3, and he is immature enough to give up his duty to the city in order to live a regular life in Spider-Man 2.

After No Way Home, the Raimi Trilogy technically being the *real* start to the MCU makes it even better
@hopelessclown
@hopelessclown 2 жыл бұрын
I agree. It always felt bittersweet to me that the MCU kicked off right after the Raimiverse ended (literally the year after, interestingly enough) and was never able to include it. For me, the MCU has always been the spiritual continuation of what the Raimi movies started. And now those movies have officially been incorporated into the larger narrative of the MCU, making that spiritual connection into a literal one. The Raimiverse's legacy lives on in NWH and even beyond as the experiences with the original Spider-man, Doc Ock, and Green Goblin have left a permanent impression on the current Spider-man and will shape who he is going forward.

@andy pla yes. You're right. Just look the MCU Spiderman, those 2 movies was never up to the Sam Raimi's trilogy's quality. I am kind of not enjoy Tom Holland's Spiderman much despite of his good acting. Moreover, the villians were not solid and the script was too "safe". Like what you said, Disney would never let any superheroes that overshadow the entire MCU. Really hope that they would do that in "What if....?" series that the risky ideas could be in a movie.

You never truly realise how Sam Raimi portrayed his vision of Spider-Man until you really start rewatching scenes... In Raimi's films you really get to see that side of Spidey, he doesn't want to defeat these super-villains, he wants to help them, find a way to show them that it doesn't have to be this way. I love how Raimi's Spider-Man oozes this hopeful and positive energy throughout his films.

Tobey’s Spider-Man is the most perfect live action representation of a super hero in cinematic history. This trilogy goes far beyond a man in tights throwing nets through the city, the joy of having power or silly jokes. It is about someone who was always beaten by life, Peter Parker suffered bullying, suffered his parents' and uncle Ben's death, just like any other tragedy of his life, any weak person would have lived with the desire for revenge against the world, but that's what makes a hero, I can't describe in simple words what these movies meant to me.

He knows a hero when he sees one. Too few characters out there, flying around like that saving old girls like me. And Lord knows, kids like Henry need a hero-courageous, self-sacrificing people setting examples for all of us. Everybody loves a hero. People line up for them…cheer them…scream their names. And years later, they’ll tell how they stood in the rain for hours just to get a glimpse of the one who taught them to hold on a second longer. I believe there’s a hero in all of us…that keeps us honest…gives us strength…makes us noble…and finally allows us to die with pride, even though sometimes we have to be steady and give up the thing we want the most - even our dreams. Spider-Man did that for Henry and he wonders where he’s gone. He needs him

Sam Raimi understood that the identity of Spider-Man truly is a gift and a curse to the one who holds it. That person is marked by great tragedy and great hope, by great sacrifice and great courage, by great power and great responsibility. Beyond everything else, Raimi understood more than the importance of Spider-Man. He understood the importance of Peter Parker.

Tobey Maguire trilogy will always be the best one. Tobey portrayal of Peter Parker shows how human and relatable he is. He always has his duty as a hero a priority over his own problem. So many hardships yet still friendly neighborhood Spiderman.

This trilogy embodies all a superhero movie adaptation should be. From the development of its key characters from the first film to the last, the making the audience feel like they were one of the civilians in new york, you didnt just see spiderman, you saw New York, the people , it took its time to showcase the people around spiderman, the struggles Peter faces in each film that ultimately delevop him into a bigger hero. Back when choices had weight and consequences, nowadays every bad choice is taken out with a joke or a pun in movies, character’s seem somewhat flawed but the consequences are so little. This trilogy embodied what spiderman is, why he is so popular, you could relate to his real human problems, things we could face everyday like paying rent, keeping up at school, relationship issues, time management issues, trauma of loss,etc. You can tell everyone who worked in writing, producing, shooting this film really loved the character and they poured out that passion to tell a story. Nowadays its all about cashgrabs and fan service scenes that dont quite fit. Spiderman was a hero here because of the “man”, Peter. As aunt may says in one scene “I believe in you Peter, you are a good person”. Its because Peter is good that he can take up that responsibility with the power he has obtained. Even if we are shown how he upholds the power righteously vs green goblin who used it for wrong in 1, we see how he struggles with having power and the responsibility of it vs having a normal life as Peter at 2, and we see that Peter has a darkside where he abuses and lets his power make him arrogant in 3. Not to mention how he still held the pain of the first film of losing uncle ben because of his choice and the third movie brought it all back to him now that he basically had everything down and was the “true hero”, his character got broken down once again and in the end he grew once more. Not to mention how each main character had an arc in this trilogy. Not a big fan of the new spiderman. Don’t like the direction he is being taken to. I really hope that they bring Tobey as an experienced spiderman in the “No Way Home” film, and teaches Tom’s spiderman a thing or two about what it means to be the hero. No more mentors like Tony or Strange but for Tobey to teach him what Uncle ben taught him and what he has learned. And this new spiderman to see that in himself.

*Doc Ock:* "The power of the sun..." *Spiderman:* "...at the palm of your hand." *Doc Ock:* "Peter?" *Spiderman:* "Otto" *Doc Ock:* "Well it's good to see you, dear boy" *Spiderman:* "It's good to see you" *Doc Ock:* "You're all grown up! How are you?!" *Spiderman:* "Trying to do better" This moment was so wholesome. That line "You're all grown up." was so good. It doesn't refer to just Peter Parker, it refered to us fans, who grew up with the films and now encountered these guys so many years later. I was born in 2002, the same year when the very first Spiderman movie released. Now I'm 19 and a half years old. Spiderman was the first ever superhero that I got to know at like age 2. Ever since that day, he was my favorite up and still is the de facto favorite superhero in my heart and evem though I like the movies of Andrew and Tom, Tobey's face is the one that comes when I think of unmasked Spiderman. Ever since that day I first saw him that red and blue always represents great mood and hope for me. Spiderman meant and still means so much for me. I remember I teared up for him when he was brutally beat up by Venom and Sandman in Spiderman 3 when I first watched it as a little guy worried if Spiderman will be okey. When I was a kid alone at home at late evening afraid of the monster in the dark room, I would toughen up myself by thinking "Spiderman wouldn't be afraid" to myself or by imagining that he is somewhere out there watching and would protcect me at any time. When kids dream of being a superhero and try to imagine their own powers and costumes, I always wanted to be *Spiderman*

Those lines made me cry in theater because I had come to the same realization. I was born in 03 so in between 1 and 2. I remember always rewatching the movies constantly and always being afraid of Vemon. I remember when I heard about The Amazing Spiderman coming out, I remember being excited to see Tobey be Spiderman once again. However when I saw that it was Andrew, I was disappointed. Even though I love Andrew nowadays as well as Tom later when he appeared, but back then all I wanted was Tobey. Whenever I thought about Spiderman, I always thought about Tobey. Even though I enjoy and love Andrew and Tom, Tobey will forever be my Peter Parker, my Spiderman

the scene beginning at 3:30 showing how the citizens and Mary Jane, Aunt May and Harry have all helped greatly to defeat the villains with Aunt May saying "there's a hero in all of us" and punctuated with Harry sacrificing himself when Eddie was about to kill Peter. That was powerful.

I just want Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi to live a happy and satisfying life. They'd given all us 2000's kids a hero to look upto way before a grand Marvel universe ever came into play, they really dont deserve inch of slack they get. One Man, One Director, One hero. Thank you Sam and Tobey for giving the world this masterpiece of a trilogy.
