Spider Wood Aquarium Aquascape, Setup, & Info

Күн бұрынAquarium spider wood is one of the best ways to add an awesome look chair fish tank. Spider wood is fairly priced and an awesome aquascape tool to use to your advantage. This type of wood will float at first so it will make it very difficult to put it into your tank but there are ways to get it to sink fairly quickly.
Aquarium spider wood will float but I talk about ways to get it to sink fast. Prepare your spider wood by boiling it. I also go over some aquascaping techniques as well. It’s readily available and a cheap aquarium driftwood option.

OMG!!!! I love that hollow piece you found!!!!!! I found a root on a trail ride (horse) once and stuck in it my saddle bags and brought it home and it looks amazing in my Tiger Barb tank. It's my 2nd favorite piece of wood ever!!!! I like the spider wood, too; but it was so cool (to me, anyway) to bring something home from "nature" and incorporate it into one of my tanks.

For everything youve gone through this last couple years, your tanks look amazing. When im split between work and kids and on the raggedy edge of sanity my aquariums take the brunt of my neglect lol

I just received my first order of three random pieces of spiderwood a couple days of days ago. I can’t wait to get them in my aquarium. My plan is to combine them to make it look like one big price, but that could always change. 😂 Thanks for the video. Oh, and I love that your television stand doubles as an aquarium rack!!! 😎 📺 🐠

I just started a new 20g , I put it in an old console TV...I'll have male guppies and tetras...I want to decorate it with spider wood and live plants...I'm so excited to do this!!

I like to mix it up with my tanks. I find spiderwood is great when adding to a piece of driftwood to give it the root look you'd find naturally underwater. I'd love to see you do a video on how to hook up tanks to one airpump and keep it organized and neat. I have mine hooked up but its a bit crazy looking.

Any idea why my spider wood turns almost a black color after boiling off tannin and placing in my tank? I need something lighter for this particular build. I bought it from a fairly reputable store. Any suggestions?

When you find branches in the woods, how do you make sure they're safe for your aquarium? Do you boil them just like you do here with the purchased wood?

I bought a cool piece of spider wood a few days ago and brought it home to boil it and release the tannins. For some reason the wood has taken on a very dark color in my tank (almost black). Does all spider wood do this?I was really hoping for something a bit lighter.

I bought some spider wood from Petsmart and it looks really cool, but I didn’t boil it and it discolored the water terribly, and when I got the spider wood out of the water, it had some kind of sap coming out of it. Will boiling fix this? Was it spider wood knock off? Why did it make my tank look so bad???

So the big piece of spiderwood I put in my tank keeps getting white slimy fuzzy gross stuff on it. I take it out, scrub in hot water, put it back, the water clouds and discolors and .the cycle starts again with growing gross... yuk. What am I doing wrong?

I got spider wood for the first time and it was the size I could not fit all into the pot and I rotate and boiled 90 min, it floats and I have another wood that did not float top it over so the spider wood stay in the water without floating upside down. I forgot the wood float first and I glued some plants already..silly me... and I hope it does not keep floating forever... In average,spiderwood float how long I am sure depending on the size but..? I liked the color of the wood and characteristic of the wood.

Your black backgrounds look amazing. Did you paint them? I used the cheap stuff from Petsmart and I'm getting air and water bubbles in it.

Get some black out tint on amazon. Works great.

Tint is good, but foam board is easier to use

Glue some rocks on the bottom, then bury the rocks in your substrate

We add water to tanks when evaporates and do a 40 percent water change once every 6 months

No decorations in my tanks. My goldfish are the decorations. Only 2 tanks,50 & 60. After the move, 2-5g a 6 gal, going to plant. also 2- 2gal for plants. planting one first to see----
