Personally, I enjoyed it, although it ended flatly and I feel a better ending would’ve been an extra twist; that Steve was actually a prisoner also and that he had a position of power simply because he was the son of his fathers company, Abnesti Pharma. Wouldn’t that make more sense to why Steve hated being called Mr. Abnesti all the time? I think it would’ve rounded the story off better.

Yeah, I can agree with that. It's actually surprising he named his company that.

I thought the movie was amazing like really good but the ending kinda ruined it. The whole fight/jailbreak scene killed the momentum of the movie. There was a lot they could have done with the ending.

The ending could've been better. Even the book ending would've been better than what the movie did with it, but I think they could've improved on both

I loved this movie. It reminded me of the short stories that are read in middle school and high school. The story is set up to where you can fill in the gaps using your own imagination from your own interpretations.

Although I've never read the story, "Escape from Spiderhead", I just saw this movie yesterday and I love it! Although I would love to see the original story's ending I feel like it wouldn't have been as action packed as the movie's ending. I do recommend! 10/10!

Definitely less action in the original story, which is probably one of the reasons for the change. Would've been interesting to see both played out though 🙃

Great premise, and the film is genuinely thought-provoking. And possibly also prescient: If drugs like Obediex, Verbulace and Darkenfloxx (and the others) don't already exist in some form, they might very well sometime soon.
@TheNerdDoc

Very true, they're definitely on the path to this kind of stuff. Maybe not with such immediate results anytime soon, but significant effect for sure

There are very similar parallels in modern pharmacology. Verbulace would probably be a stimulant, like amphetamine. The one that causes everything to be beautiful is most similar to MDMA. Darkenfloxx is extremely similar in effect to the chemical weapon BZ. G47 is most similar to many synthetic cannabinoids or Dronabinol.

Miles Teller gave me John Cusack vibes. Would have liked to see them expand a bit on choice since none had agreed to B-6 but overall i thought it was fine. I would have to look at it again to determine if escort/guards were prisoners as well since they seem to disappear at some point.

@kyle He had some sociopathic tendencies, but I also feel as though he wasn't like that his entire life. His comments about beautiful people getting away with things, how poorly he treated Mark, things like that make it seem as though he was more "normal" at some point, possibly before he dove into his work
