Wait... our crevices are supposed to be CLEAN? I’m not one of those guys that watches a machining video and comments to “wear your hearing protection”, so I apologize in advance for being that guy. I saw a guy wearing gloves touch a rod spinning in a lathe. Somehow the gloves started wrapping around the rod taking his fingers along. The end result severe damage to three fingers with their respective flexor tendons ripped from his forearm. He can’t grip anything now. Probably no need to expound on the incredible stupidity of that action. I understand this is a somewhat different circumstance, maybe not as dangerous. But I feel if you adopt the idea of never touching anything spinning in a lathe or the spinning lathe itself, you will never suffer that type of injury. I’m sure I’m mostly preaching to the choir but not everyone watching is in the choir. Just because you see someone getting away with a possibly dangerous act don’t feel like it’s safe for you to do the same.
