I think it is great that people are open to polyamory. I am personally monogamous, but more because I do not think I can manage multiple relationships, although I am happy to let my partner explore other relationships (it also puts me at ease to know someone else is watching out for and taking care of him, especially when I am busy at work, etc). While I agree that nothing is fundamentally missing in the relationship for people to go poly, one huge area that I believe poly has over mono relationships is that different people is going to contribute different things into the relationship, just like how one may have multiple friendships, or how each sibling/parent/child/cousin/etc will bring different things to your life, but your platonic or familial relationships with each of them is going to be different both individually and in group dynamics. Objectively, having more adults in the family earning income is just more practical as well in today's day and age when most middle and working class are struggling to make ends meet (not trying to be political here, but maybe that's why most institutes don't legalize poly?).
