When I first watched this movie and saw the credits, my jaw was on the floor. I honestly had no clue that this film (and it's sequels), was directed by Genndy Tartakovsky. I grew up watching his shows as a kid, from Dexter's Lab, to Samurai Jack, to Clone Wars 2003, and Sym-Bionic Titan. Samurai Jack in particular was my favorite cartoon growing up as a kid. So, when I saw who directed this movie I was shocked to see Genndy's name, since he's not particularly known for doing 3D animation. Speaking of, I'm still pissed that his Popeye movie never got off the ground.

Lets's be honest, all of us were down bad for Mavis at some point. Too bad she's taken. Anyway, I like how this movie is able to shift from hilarious to heartfelt and back again and still have it all feel natural. (Or as natural as Adam Sandler can be.) Sad how the sequels decided to take a more comedic approach (which weren't even funny) while the first movie had genuine emotion.

@@Mr.Feather130 well if going by a fictional law, i would say it would depend on what is considered the legal age in this case for vampires... considering her birthday seems to be a celebration relating somewhat to adult hood, my guess is that this is indeed her birthday on becoming an adult in the world of vampires... if that is the case i would say that in the fictional world if a law existed for it, you would be arrested if they were younger than her.

When I was a young lad, I really liked how Johnny was like, kinda wise to the world but dumb intellectually, and that was his whole thing. He was a chill party dude... But in the sequels they upped the dumb, dropped the wise, and just made him "Haha dumb male protagonist" trope.
