I'm sorry but the people defending this should never have children. You do not leave your kids unsupervised for a moment, not to mention in an unlocked car in an unfamiliar place. I don't think she's a bad mom, but this should serve as a serious learning experience for her. I can only hope that she took the criticism and will not do this in the future.

Ok leaving your kids or pets in the car is ILLEGAL in the United States. There is NO excuses for it, Do NOT do that. I've seen police actually break in the car to rescue a pet left in the car and another time a baby. It's embarrassing to see and you can get in some serious trouble. Don't do it.

@@mariitania9278 Don't have a leg in this race, but it IS illegal even if the A/C is on if it goes on for "an extended period". There's not an exact measurement on what's "an extended period" because the law likes things vague, most times, but the basic takeaway is "don't leave things that can't care for themselves in a car if you aren't going to have your eyes on them the entire time". You waited too long to have your own child, your best bet is to adopt, but you're an unmarried doctor, you're never going to have time for the child and will likely have to leave them more often than not in the care of family like your parents - who should be enjoying their golden years and not raising another child, or worse, in the care of strangers in a daycare where abuse is very possible. And God forbid you leave them in the care of a boyfriend that you didn't vet properly. You may have to give up on that dream of being a mother and just focus on your work.

I also want to add to the alcohol thing - no, taking your child(ren) to a bar/pub is not normal nor safe. Drinking while having children is ok, but it's safer to not do that OR do it very rarely. When you have kids, there ALWAYS has to be at least one completely sober person in case something bad happens. On the topic of parents who exploit and neglect their children: Could you talk about those van living families, specifically "Family of Nomads" and how they're willingly neglecting their children's wants and needs? Specifically their oldest. Gosh, it always infuriates me. There's definitely some complications that comes with that kind of life style in older children. I'd love to hear it discussed.

I can’t stand these “mommy” and family bloggers, especially when the children are babies or very young and therefore can’t consent to their images all over the internet. Everyone seems to think their children are marketable these days and it’s really sad. What will these kids think when they’re teenagers, or even grown adults, and there are videos which seem lighthearted now, but would be embarrassing as an adult, all over the internet? These parents know that what happens on the internet stays on the internet, right? ALL of these parents are exploitative.

When I was a kid in the 90s, my parents had VHS tapes of our funny/goofy/private/happy moments and recordings from my dance pageants and school. Nobody ever saw those but family members or close family friends that came to visit. Nowadays people have gotten so used to broadcasting their lives to the world that they're looping their children into it mindlessly. It's such a dangerous place to be posting your children.

She's just lucky living in a "rather safe" country (compare to many other places, even though it's NOT safe). In many other countries, actually also in the US, the children can be just taken right in front of you and run off in a van. In my city, there are news that kidnappers pretend to be the grandparents and attempt to kidnap the child at the SCHOOL GATE, RIGHT IN FRONT OF EVERYONE!!! Even adults can be kidnapped! Not to mention the child could suddenly feel unwell and you didn't come back in time to give medical attention. If you have left your child unwatched and they are still here with you healthy and well, it's all luck that they are still here with you. If you don't feel safe leaving your phone or wallet unwatched in that area, you're not leaving your child there alone.

People like that should not have a platform. Using your children are your way to success is just wrong. Of course you'll include them, cause they're part of your life but using them because they sell, is just wrong. Not every person is meant to be a parent and that's proven every single day. Family channels and some parent creators have lost the limit between being a parent for the views and being an actual parent and the kids are on the receiving end of all of this. It's not only on them though, it's on the people who support them and continue to give them a platform as well.

For the entire portion where so many people are debating over how easy it could be for someone to just take her kids because they were left in a car, debating over the safety of leaving them with the AC on, and how easy it is to "check" on them, all i could think about was this story i heard back in July where a baby died because they were left sitting in a car seat by themselves to nap. I know the circumstances are different, but from a distance a dead baby probably doesnt look that different from one that's asleep, and when she "checks" on her kids, I fear one of these day's they'll be suffocating where they sit and from where she is, they're just asleep and she's done her job, being lulled into a false sense of security after so many days of nothing happening.

I am livid! I heard about this several months back and even told my own mom about it. Maia leaving her kids in the car alone is bad on its’ own but given that the babies are famous, anyone can take them. Anything can happen to those little girls and it is really scary. All it takes is one moment of careless and not paying attention for something to happen to those babies. Given that she’s sharing her kids online like she is and even making money off of them, that is bad parenting right there. One thing I wanted to mention in particular is the moment with hooking up with guys. Maia said herself that when having relations with a man that she’ll leave the option of protection ONLY to the man and that is dangerous especially when you have an audience of young girls watching. That’ll open them up not just to pregnancy but to diseases especially the ones that are incurable.

For the first 5 minutes, I was just thinking that Maia was naive and made bad decisions because she was young, but when the part where she left her babies in the car DURING WORK just stunned me. Does she not have a trusted guardian to babysit the kids? Not even her parents or friends? I cannot relate to being a parent, but if I were a single parent, I would seek help from my own parents and family rather than keeping my children in a car thinking that they're safe in that car. (edit) I'm only about 5 minutes into the video, and I cannot with this woman. I also wanted to say, putting your children's faces on social media is not safe either. If you become famous, a lot of people will know what your children look like. My mom posted me on Facebook as a kid because we have family members that are around the world, but she kept her posts only for people whom she was friends with and knew personally. Children cannot give consent to being on social media, hence why people who record videos on the news or other platforms blur other people's faces because they did not consent. Maia is putting her own children in danger of predators by just recording her children and posting their faces on social media.
