I didn't recognize him in the movie poster and when I read his name that ruined it for me. I'm sorry but you can't spend your life associating yourself with comedy and then expect people to take you seriously in a horror film. It would work if he was directing like Jordan Peele because you wouldn't be constantly seeing him.

The tongue trap has to be one of my favorite traps! I was cringing in my seat from the character’s pain. As a fan boy of the Saw franchise, it brought back great memories of seeing every Saw movie in theaters. Spiral made me so happy lol.

I have been watching Saw since the first one has come out I have been obsessed with this movie series I am so with you on that I've been waiting and waiting I did not know they were going to make another one and then when I heard about spiral I was just like okay where are they going to take this now I just love this like how they've kept this going in the craziness in the stories and I've always known since the fifth movie when we saw the guy hobbling that Dr Gordon was his successor and oh my God I wonder if Hoffman is really dead because it never showed him being dead it just showed him being locked in the room and obviously the bathroom was found because the lady in jigsaw that had all the the relics and everything she had you know assault if the bathroom was never found how would she know about the saw I don't know this is really exciting I can't wait to see where they're going to take this I wonder if it's going to be the guy Logan or if it's going to be Dr Gordon I would absolutely love to see Dr Gordon back again

Looks like with the train trap, the guy’s tongue is ‘trapped’ and the only way to escape is to bite it off or pull it out of his mouth. Yikes!

I think the reason why he couldn’t get his tongue free was because if you look at the bottom of the mouth trap, you can see a nail going through the bottom of the mouth trap, and into the guy’s tongue. So yeah, you’re right about the only way to escape the mouth trap is to chew off his own tongue. 4:28.

For me, this movie was incredible. I love gory films but I’ve got to say the Saw traps in this one left me clenching my entire body! Especially the first trap with the train. Awesome movie and awesome effects! The story was incredible and I’m gonna need a part II after that ending.

Okay so I’m throwing this idea out there about a good, loyal addition to the Saw universe. We’re like 9 movies in. How do we continue John Kramer’s mission and legacy without the bullshit of “maybe he’s still alive” or “there’s additional tapes/evidence undiscovered” and Properly expand the Saw universe from here? We’ve gotta stop using all of the flashbacks, maybe leave the new cop storyline open-ended, (they probably won’t since Saw X has been announced) and focus on something that’s already been alluded to. A cult of Jigsaw. Kramer was training all sorts of apprentices. The good ones were Dr. Gordon (Saw) and Logan (Jigsaw), and from Jigsaw we learn there is a community out there that’s fascinated with Kramer, his games, and his ideology. Hell, even that one girl in Jigsaw was a big fan of the traps and learning all she could about it. So, moving on from Kramer’s convoluted storyline, moving away from the new cop storyline, we’ve got a new series of murders going on, and a cult. This cult will be a bunch of fanatics who follow Kramer’s intentions religiously. They want to be the successors and bring change to the world. Hmm... okay so I’m coming up with this on the fly. The police think this cult is out there killing random innocent people who have no real dirty backgrounds or scandals, which surely doesn’t fit the motif of Kramer or the ideology. Meanwhile, either Gordon, Logan, or both are busy running their own games and training up a new apprentice, and they smell something fishy in this new cult. The cult is doing it all wrong, and recklessly, the same way Amanda and Hoffman were initially doing it for personal gain. So here’s the first question, the leaders of the cult have to initiate new members, right? How will they do it? They will offer people a chance to join if they endure their own trap, the idea being that if they are willing to suffer, and find their will to live, and survive their trap, then they can be “reborn.” So Dr. Gordon and/or Logan will need the dirt on the cult. They will discover that the guys at the top of the cult have not endured their own traps (like Bobby Dagen), and they just want to murder new initiates for sport, and if someone does survive, well they’re in the cult now. So these murders have actually been people trying to get into this cult, and failed. At the end of the film, one or both of Kramer’s actual apprentices put the leaders of this new cult into their own games. None survive. I want to break that staleness of the multi-movie storylines that jump back and forth in the timeline and actually sit down to create one good mystery. Like, in the beginning, it’s this big, shadowy underground organization and you actually think they’re out there running games on the public, so you only have as much understanding as the police investigating this monstrous conspiracy. Then.. you get a glimpse into the inner workings on the cult and it looks fucking brilliant. Next you get the perspective of Kramer’s real apprentice(s) looking into it and seeing all’s not good in the hood. So the whole movie will allude to this super secret underground cult that’s actually making moves in the public psyche and looks as if they’re carrying on Kramer’s legacy, when in reality it’s a bunch of dudes recruiting and tricking young, impressionable, obsessive fans into trying out the sadistic traps they create, and if some survive, “shiiit, you’re in!” And Kramer’s actual apprentices are like “Oh hi there, bitches. Let’s show you how it’s Really done.” 😂 It’s basically the real successors vs the posers.

I'm surprised this movie was as good as it was. First still is the best (surprise to exactly no one) but this definitely tried tk be it's own thing and did pretty well. A few simple traps, a few complex ones, it wasn't bad at all. Story was pretty good too
