I know right! For some people to us aviation geeks, the plane noise can be annoying to them. But then it's like, "PEOPLE, the entire aircraft does not need to hear your conversation. If you watch A220-300 video LAX-SAT, you'll hear what I'm talking about. Got this one guy behind me in first class & swear this one guy is using every curse word in the book it seems talking to his buddy.

It’s when the engine needs air to go in it, it’s gonna make a sound where it will increase the engine so you can speed up and takeoff fast but if u wondering what it’s called it’s a roar of an engine

Slightly doubtful it was a TO/GA takeoff instead of a Flex takeoff 🤓

It wasn’t a flex. TOGA is required on contaminated runways. The lack of buzzsaw with TOGA thrust during humid conditions is very common with the IAE V2500.

@@inflight_aviation I know for a fact that TOGA is required for contaminated runways specifically at Spirit airlines. That I know for a fact. Ask me how I know 😄. Takeoff performance will vary a LOT depending on the aircraft GW, which is an unknown variable in this case.

@@inflight_aviation I know a guy 😉 but in all seriousness, I _would_ say maybe the crew overlooked that TOGA requirement, but that’s impossible as the Takeoff data uplink calculation will force TOGA thrust if WET CONTAM is selected.

@@inflight_aviation I think you misunderstood. So pretty much the numbers are sent off (weight/wind/runway length & contam and other variables) to a server that calculates the data and returns it to aircraft. The return includes thrust setting (FLEX or TOGA). If you select WET rwy contam, the calculator will suggest only TOGA thrust for that departure.

@@blumac9801 I’m aware of the TO Data uplink on the Airbus, but the wet-contam mode doesn’t always mandate TOGA depending on the airline and other conditions.
