@MOLLYSARTISTRY your video on doing shows helped me so much. After watching your video like 2-3 times outside I went and told my husband everything that you said. This past Saturday was amazing! Just after setting up I started selling immediately! I had 1 30x40 and 3 30x30 canvases. My smaller ones were selling but not my big ones. I kept looking at them when we were packing up for the night and almost decided not to bring them back on Sunday. My husband said, “No you are bringing them back!” Sunday morning 8am - around 3:30pm was terrible! Only selling magnets and keychains that I made from paint skins. At 2:30pm I told my husband let’s go home! I was so discouraged! He threw your words into my face!! Great 🤪 Around 3:30pm a girl that was looking at the 4 big paintings on Saturday with her boyfriend came back! She was trying to decide which painting to get. I was sitting down behind the tent and my husband was talking to her. He called me over and she she turned around and said, “I just absolutely have to have the 30x40 painting to go over my fireplace! Can you also possibly do a skinny long one as well? I need to replace another painting I have?” Molly I soak up every word you said but quickly ignored all of your advice. Did I sell out? Did I get rich? No but seeing the twinkle in her eyes and smile on her face was worth a million dollars! My husband who is a cheapskate and is not into art said, “Babe you are too hard on yourself. Your paintings are gorgeous. With art or anything else for that matter a person has to connect with it! I just finally feel recognized for my art. I mean our family and even Facebook groups say, “Oh that’s gorgeous!” Sometimes you feel like they are just saying that to be nice. I also have to remember it was not an art event. Plus it was in a smaller Texas city. Growing up as a kid I was always creative but my Daddy would always say, “It’s not going to pay the bills! Get an education and a real job!” So I got my masters at UCF in accounting. God had other plans for me years down the road. Now I get to be creative! I know my daddy is looking down upon me with a smile and a smart remark but he’s happy!

@@carolineg.5461 I had to translate your message. I have always been a blunt person and not ashamed of telling my story. We never know who we can help by telling it. I honestly thought my art wasn’t good enough to sell. So I always gave it away. I make it with pure love with no intentions of anything. I like bright colors and many people don’t. If people only looked up the physiology of what colors do for a person’s mood they would change. Pay attention to the little things in life, example fast food restaurants. Why are their menu boards always with bright colors? I drowned and lost myself for over 2 years from losing my paternal grandmother and then my beautiful momma 80 days later. Then 12 years later I lost my daddy! I was so depressed but I also had a young child now. So to keep myself busy I would flip furniture to give away to people in need. I seen the effects the colors had on me. Then my husband deployed in 2021 and I got aggravated with the timeline of seeing a finished piece. I was already watching fluid art videos and decided to take a deep dive. I had buckets of slop paint more than paint colors! I was determined to get it! Now when I look at my first piece compared to now I amaze myself. Am I as good as Molly? Heck No! Going to an appointment with my husband to be evaluated for Veteran Disability a very well known psychiatrist here in Texas did his evaluation. My husband told him, “My wife paints everything in our house pink!! Now she is painting canvases with pinks, turquoises and other bright colors. When I look at them I feel calm.” Mind you my husband never told me that before!! That’s when I learned at the age of 52 that colors affect our mood! He told us it’s scientifically proven. I’ve had many comments about my color choices. Example, “Why are they always bright colors? Do you never do neutral colors?” My response is always the same, “I make it with my heart and these are the colors that make me happy!” I believe that’s what everyone should do! Having a parent be in your corner and encouraging you is everything! I’ve learned quickly, If it's both terrifying and amazing then you should definitely pursue it.

This is my favorite color palette. It is very calming and soothing for me. I use these all the time in mine. I just finished a project where I asked my wife and two 14yo daughters what their favorite colors were. I made each of them, and myself a 20x20 using our favorites by colander pour. I saved all the left over and scrap paint for each one separate. We then made a 30x40 colander pour where all four of us poured our leftover paints simultaneously into the colander and I tilted it out and torched it. It turned out beautifully and I am going to name in "Pieces of Me". That color palette with some dark teals, Amsterdam Bluish Green and some pinks kind of encapsulates all three in your client's series. It was a real satisfying project.

Interesting comment. I looked at it and thought it felt like the storm we had here over the weekend. I don't live on the coast, so it didn't feel like the sea, but the storm was high winds (truck got blown of a bridge through a pass) big thunderstorm and lots of rain.

I don't know if you noticed, but when you put those 2 side by side, The patterns look like they're made to go together. They actually are very much lined up. Also, it almost looks like a light is being shown on the right side to shadows on the left side. It's they're very beautiful together

i really really love the concepts of the ocean and the sun in this form - like waves crashing, and the sun burning. i need to save this idea somewhere. my 3rd concept would be trees.
