The two rules clarifications here: 1. The fear card is used at fear level 2 because you're at fear level 2, even though you got it before it turned into fear level 2. And, as others have noted, it's only one damage to all invaders in the land, not one damage per invader. It would say "per invader" if that was the case. 2. You do indeed get to use both levels of the innate power, but both abilities still only target one land. Since it's just one power. It's like leveling up a regular minor or major power with elements, the power still only affects one land. So you'd get to gather one explorer and destroy two explorers with one fear per destroyed explorer, but both of those things would happen in the same land.

Hey man! Great videos. At 17:20 roughly, you interpret the card as “(all) invaders take 1 damage”. I disagree. With that Interpretation, The 2nd fear level says almost the same thing with “invaders take 1 damage per Dahan” and there has to be a dahan there to play the card..... and that might be as intended so looking at the 3rd option with the same interpretation would mean that invaders take 2 damage per dahan. So you’re saying, 2 dahan does 4 damage to each individual invader which would kill everything no matter how many were there. I don’t think that is what is intended. I believe “invaders” plural is intended as a singular team, like “the Mets” or “the Jets”. So the team takes damage to their pool of hit points rather than each individual invader taking the damage. Terror level 1: 1 damage in a tile containing a dahan. Terror level 2: 1 damage x #of dahan in a tile containing a dahan. (Same as first if only 1) Terror level 3: 2 damage x #of dahan in a tile containing a dahan. With only 2 explorers that’s not a big deal but with a large crowd that makes a single card do incredible damage late game with only 2 dahan. That’s just my interpretation. At 12min, you could use 1 energy to activate Shadows special power to cast your Crops Wither Power on the Sand City where your Dylan are. Shadow actually has amazing reach even with 0 range powers because it can project itself from where Dalan "cast their shadows" Great run so far, I think the spirits will be making a comeback now that they've gotten powered up!

Hi Colin, now the german version is out i watched your videos about Spirit Island. Around 16:35 you use the innate power of shadows. That's ok but i think you cannot "split" both stages of the power on two different target locatons. For me you have to activate the power once and do stage 1 and 2 to one chosen target location.

At 17:00, you should use level 2 (as you note in the subtitles), but I'm also not sure if you actually deal 1 damage per invader. I'd read the text as "(The group known as) Invaders take 1 Damage per Dahan", if it was the other way I'd expect the card to read "Each invader takes 1 damage per Dahan". With your intepretation, 3 Dahan could take out an infinite amount of invader pieces.

I'm feeling pretty good that you can win this one...

Thank you for your awesome videos! I am really thrilled for this game, I hope to grab a copy some day (which is not so easy here in Germany). One comment: At around 17:00, you flipped a fear card as part of the invader phase and resolved the effect of the first terror level. As I understand the rules, you should have activated the effects of the second terror level: "Use only the effect listed next to the current Terror Level". And one other comment I am not so sure about: At 16:20, you activated the innate power of the shadows spirit. I am pretty sure that you were correct to activate both the first and second effect, since it does not say "instead" (as you stated in your video). But I am not sure if both effects have to resolved in the same land, or if you can target two different land (as you did). I could not find any clear answer. Do you have one? Can't wait for the next episode of this playthrough!

to clarify something. can you place presence anywhere that's adjacent to ANY spirit? you have a red presence next to the purple presence. i was under the impression that you could only place it next to other reds? or can you put it next to anyone's presence? orrrr are you able to do that because you're the only player? my friends just got this game, and we tried playing for the first time yesterday, and were really confused!
