Born in Gujarat, India, Kamlesh D. Patel showed an early interest in meditation and spiritual growth. In 1976, while a pharmacy student in Ahmedabad, he met his spiritual guide, Shri Ram Chandra of Shahjahanpur (Babuji), founder and first President of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission (SRCM).
After graduating with honors in 1980, Patel moved to the United States and practiced pharmacy in New York City. He continued to dedicate himself to the Raja Yoga system of Sahaj Marg, demonstrating remarkable dedication and progress. This period marked his ability to excel in both his professional and spiritual pursuits.
Patel remained a devoted follower of Parthasarathi Rajagopalachari (Chariji), the second President of SRCM, after Babuji's passing. He assumed various leadership roles within the organization, contributing significantly to its global expansion. In October 2011, Patel was designated Chariji's successor, and in August 2012, due to Chariji's declining health, became Vice-President of SRCM with full presidential powers. Following Chariji's passing in 2014, Patel became the spiritual guide of the Sahaj Marg system and the third President of SRCM. He is often affectionately referred to as Daaji.
Daaji, along with his wife and two sons, leads a life dedicated to spiritual service. He continuously travels worldwide, conducting meditation sessions for seekers, offering yogic transmission, and speaking at SRCM centers and ashrams. He actively engages with the public through various media platforms, including newspaper articles, television, and radio. Daaji's life and teachings serve as a powerful inspiration for anyone seeking human evolution and expanded consciousness.
