When I saw this I had to rewind and rewatch several times. I had no idea other people, particularly people I would respect have the same issues I do. I cried. And cried. And had to dissect it for myself. The lies we have agreed to...Without even realizing. It’s happening in our personal lives as well as a culture in this age of technology and fake news. I've begun to learn in my spiritual walk, that I can acknowledge and affirm my feelings and at the same time recognize that they don't always reflect the truth about myself or a given situation.

Matt, with the fruit these videos/talks/book/openness about porn addictions for men and women/etc and ALLL that it is bearing, as I’m sure you’ve heard before, you have a BIGGGGG target on your back for the enemy to try and attack. Lord Jesus, protect Matt & his family, protect Fr. Mike & what all these great men are doing for Your Kingdom!! (I’m a missionary for a tiny ministry called Catholic Young Adult Sports - it started in Denver, so I’m already getting attacked)

My God i need this, please give me the light to understand the truth.

Those accusations drove me into a 3-year depression starting when I was 11 years old. And how much proof there was! Eventually the accusations became the whole truth, in my mind. It wasn't until rock bottom, when my closest circle of friends all dropped me on the same day, that I was able to begin to recognize what was happening. After my grieving period of a couple weeks, I woke up one day and decided that God must have a reason for this. God has a reason for this. And slowly I was opened to all the counter-proofs, that I really was likeable and loved. And so I made the effort, similar to what Matt does in the beginning of this video, to replace every accusation with a positive truth. I didn't know I was battling demons, so I didn't use the same format as Mr. Fradd. But the effect was the same :)

These guys just saved me a bunch of money in therapy! Seriously! I have struggled with feeling worthless for years and it doesn’t help when pretty much every one in my life really is smarter than me. But the deep pain I have been having is how some of my friends treated me. The pain is of betrayal and the pain is so deep that it is going on 10 years now. And even though I am finally starting to feel forgiveness in my heart towards them. What Fr. Mike said about the brokenness of these people that caused you pain. WOW! I never really gave that too much thought. So these friends of mine that hurt me definitely have a lot of brokenness in their heart. Thank You Matt and Fr. Mike. I will be better able to pray for my friends brokenness and mine. Thank You Merciful Jesus, the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Holy Spirit.

i get those kind of intuitions/feelings all the time and just sort of try to grit through it and/or avoid the situations...I am old enough now to realize it won't go away for the rest of my life, so its great to be given a better blueprint forward in fighting the fight we all fight. Pray an act of perfect contrition everyday

I had the most freeing experience: recently, while doing my prayers, I suddenly felt very unworthy. Then the thoughts “why should I bother, I’m just going to go to hell; I am so unworthy“ came to me. I looked at the crucifix before me, I pointed to it and I said “ you are right, demon, I am unworthy; and there is my full payment! The loving, tortured, Holy blood of Jesus Christ paid for me!” At that very moment I felt totally free. I can only guess at the holy spirit led me to that because I didn’t even know why I did it! However; the rest of my prayers are free of guilt and I felt a loving peace.

I don't feel a failure when speaking with someone smarter - I know there's always someone smarter than me. I feel worthless when interacting with someone more successful or wealthy than I am.

Agreements are important for structure and I truly believe if we form an agreement we should stick to it for the right reasons. Recently I had to apply to the Family courts, to be judged and it was worth the leap of faith to form the resulting agreement and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I did it for my child because they want to be with me more and that was the right reason in my experience.

"death and life are in the power of tongue." Proverbs 18:21. We're fools if we think our words and thoughts have no power, even if they're only directed to ourselves. I'm struggling with this right now myself. In moments of despair I wonder why Christ bothered to make me knowing I'd be so pathetic.

I liked Matt's using of prayer to uncover the lies he's been believing. Super useful. But I did not like Fr. Mike's resorting to Brene Brown or DBT. If I wanted to learn about those topics I would have gone to Ted Talks. I want catholic resources not secular ones! If we can't go to our priests for Catholic teaching then who can we go to? I usually like Fr. Mike. This time, not so much.
