Man the 2010's were really something else for lego themes. Lego Atlantis was my childhood, I loved the atmosphere of it and the animation was great. It's super nostalgic for me and I'm sure for a bunch of others but I'm honestly just glad I got to experience it.

Chima was my thing in the 2010s, some of the bets minifigs Lego ever made IMO. Loved the fact it had lots of actual weapons, too - some of the most generous arrays of accessories that Lego ever gave us.

I loved the Atlantis line. The characters and new pieces were really cool. The era of Lego around 2010 was so great. Atlantis, Power Miners, Space Police, etc. So good.

This was always one of my favorite themes when I was a kid, but I always liked the bad guys more than the good guys, lego just made the shark and squid look really cool!

It's a bit sad that the squid can't "digest" minifigs inside it like in aqua raiders. The shark is so great, it can chomp on anything. I love that it has that modified hinge plate part under the chin, it acts like a handle without being too obvious

I think both sides were great, humans was recognisable (enough for lego figs at least) and got broader importance by also playing roles in power miners. The bad guys were amazing figures with cool theming and unique pieces. I'm sad atlantis never got a big fig bad guy.

Would personally love to see a new Underwater theme, instead of a retexture of ninjago again. Lego really needs to get some more original themes with some decent story behind them. I know not every theme can be Bionicle, but it's nice to let the imagination flow, which is hard to come by when all sets are from existing brands. Think something close to Aqua raiders/Atlantis would make a lot of fans happy. Perhaps some seaquake opens up a deposit of power crystals, turning the local sea life into rock monster/sea monster hybrids.

i miss the old aquazone models from the sharks to the aquanauts and the third series during that time... some of my favorite sets are from that line. i really liked the 1995 aqua raiders.

They also had a more realistic divers series in I think 1998. I had a couple of sets, the "shark cage cove", "scuba squad" and the "sting ray explorer". (6558, 6556 and 6552) Those sets were great and came with a lot of neat parts, the big submarine cockpit dome (that somehow got lost without a trace) being a standout part that I used on a lot of other stuff too.

Lego Atlantis was and still is my favorite line, I loved the little animations they made, I had ALL of the sets as a kid. I got the portal one when i got home from the hospital, but the bricks themselves started to crumble (I think it where the brown ones), Lego gave us a new set with a little Atlantis shark Keychain as an apology. That shark has been on my key for over 10 years now.

both aqua raiders and Atlantis hold a very special place in my heart as the angler fish ambush set was my first ever set that I remember getting and with Atlantis being my second favorite theme to date just because of how cool it is! And I cant even keep count of how many times I watched the Atlantis short film it was so awesome. I wonder if the fish they find at the end is made up of actual buildable bricks and can be recreated, guess I should rewatch it to find out!

Lego Atlantis was legendary. I remember it being my favourite line of lego sets for some time. I was craving those unique villain minifigures and generally aquatic vehicles were so awesome. Thanks for reminding me of these.

LEGO really peaked with Atlantis. 🔱 The colour scheme, the balance between vehicle/monster/location sets, the weird merfolk minifigs, the intriguing story line, the building techniques combining System, Technic and Bionicles parts... I'm not saying it's perfect, and I'm definitely not saying it's the best. But it's undeniable how striking the theme was. Also, so far this is the only theme with a minifig scale ancient greek style temple. 🌊

I always loved the underwater themes as a kid. I remember the first one from the flash games I used to play on the Lego website, as well as having several of the "Aqua Raiders" sets, particularly the one with the big squid. I also remember having the sharkman minifigure and one of the divers from Atlantis. Most of that series came out a bit too late for me, though I always enjoyed underwater exploration themes in anything as a child and adult alike.

I got a few of these sets for Christmas and they created some of the best memorys I have to this day, but Alien conquest and Pharaos quest are my absolute favourite themes and just a little bit better imo

Atlantis wasn't one of the first voiced lego animations, there were 4 feature-length Bionicle movies with full voice acting before it

Legos aquatic themed sets have always been my favorite and now that I'm actually able to afford the occasional set I get the submarine/miner/arctic themed sets to show support for the home brewed themes that really bring.e back to my childhood, aquaraiders actually being my favorite line of them all and I wish Lego would revisit it more often

AquaZone was easily one of the coolest themes LEGO ever did, period. It was basically LEGO Space, but underwater. It's a tragedy we don't get regular lines like that anymore, or even ever. Nowadays it's all about licensed IPs and recreating real-world objects.

Many years ago I got a random bag of legos from goodwill, I think it was majority of the big set because it came with the octopus guy, and all of the elemental key things. Really fun messing with it when I was younger

I had the main research base and the cool underwater ship with green cockpit as seen in the video. I loved these sets and wanted the main atlantis gate. Still have the figures and some of the keyss.

i actually have most of these sets, albiet there in a box combined with all my other legos, but when i was a kid i collected allllllll of these. Was obsessed with these sets

The reason it wasn't selling was because of the other lines in Lego as competition. 2010 was pretty hype for Lego's. Atlantis had to compete with- 1. City Airport 2. Harry Potter 3. The Lego games series 5. Duplo Inject. They revamped Duplo bricks, and spent resource on getting twice as much fo them out, as other lines. 6. Space police 7. Bionicle 8. Hero Factory (Lego mechs) 9. City Fire 10. Prince of Persia 11. Toy Story 12. Lego train system 13. Star Wars 14. Power Miners 15. Power racers 16. Ben 10 ... and the rest. 2010 was a fat year where Lego decided to grab up every and any license they could that year, and push on to over saturation in Lego. It was only natural that the sets that Pushed out first were forgotten.

I have a special connection with the atlantis line. Only had one set, but it was the Portal of Atlantis, that i won as a prize for 1st place in a lego creative building competiton that I enterted randomly in a lego convention in my country. Entered just for the fun of it never even expecting to win. I built a aircraft carrier mismatching colours and styles, improvised with 2 lego city boat hulls, while other were doing better looking stuff pretty much just rebuilding sets that already existed. Guess thats the beuty of the lego spirit

My uncle had I think kne set from this theme (the set was broken and peices missing my the time I got it) but I have the diver some of the peices the shark and the trident (and that collectible shark ring thing)

Man the 2010s were a good time to be a kid who loves Lego. I remember Atlantis and power miners and agents and all the different space themes… I wish Lego would make more original themes like they used to, I don’t want to just hate on Ninjago but it feels like they just throw all their resources at that one theme nowadays. I know a lot of people like Ninjago, but it feels like that theme’s success really ended the era of original themes. Everything that could become an original theme just gets applied to Ninjas now :(

So many sets you said were released in a certain wave weren’t actually released in that wave. Did you just make it up or were there some serious source problems?
