In this video we take a look at the fantastic AuthentiKit Elevator and Rudder trim option that is available for our home flight simulators.
A big thank you to Phil from AuthentiKit for sending me a prototype combined Elevator Trim and Rudder Bias unit to try out. These two wheels are currently available as seperate pieces but a design will soon be released which will look something like this prototype but on which you will also be able to attach another piece housing switches for Pitot Heat, Radiator Flap and Fuel Pump, as in the sim Spit.
These are actually incredibly easy to get working in the sim and you do not need a full cockpit or simpit set up. They can attach to your desk and you do not even need a 3D Printer to have these controls.

Lovely flight mate 👍 Compton Abbas is my local GA airport and I can vouch that BB Designs have done a cracking job of recreating it for the sim. They've even included the two seat Spitfire 'DBE Elizabeth' parked on the apron. Last summer I lived the dream and flew this very plane from Compton Abbas to the Isle of Wight, then across the Solent and up through Portsmouth Navy harbour (my old training ground) past HMS Victory, HMS Queen Elizabeth etc before returning to C.Abbass. Bucket list complete!! I uploaded a video of it on here if you're interested. Thanks again fella.

That’s a lovely route. Yes Elizabeth looks very at home here. Now that they’ve released Old Warden that will be a nice destination from Compton Abbas too I think. Many thanks!

Great to see the AuthentiKit in action on this lovely flight from Crompton Abbas. Trim is so crucial and often overlooked. So good to have this represented so well with the Authentikit gear. If only there was an 'easy way' to attach it to my rig rather than the specific arm featured. Lovely video though mate.

There probably is but way beyond my understanding. I saw you posted in their Discord so hopefully someone will get back to you on it. Must be great to have one of these printers and just design and print anything you need.

Ah thanks mate, No problem. Fingers crossed there's a solution. I'm pretty good with CAD but sadly no printer. Authentikit are masters at this stuff though! Absolutely brilliant and look (& I image also feel) so realistic @@Dreamsofwings

As for the voltage, most Spitfires today use the 24v system, although as far as MK.IXs go, MH415 & MH434 use the original 12 volt system.

Those square blocks of trees you saw in Wales are most likely part of the army's Sennybridge Training Area. I presume, though I don't know, that the blocks serve some training purpose.

The fuel cut off (sometimes known as the idle cut off) is the red topped lever to the left of the throttle. 😜 Mixture on the Merlin 60/70 series was fully automatic.
