Disney World’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is fully in previews, and we now know every scene in the ride. So how different is it from Splash Mountain?
The answer is very different!
In this video, I’ll give you a quick tour of the new Princess and the Frog ride as it compares to what it replaced. You’ll see how the critters’ homes in Splash Mountain were transformed into the bayou, how the Laughin Place became the Lemoine Club, and the massive differences in the finales.

Honestly with the empty stretches it makes me wish that they changed it to any other theme. Because even with Splash Mountain there was still a story going on fully throughout.

Not only this ride need the shadow man but they need more animal animatronics. I don't understand why they don't have gators, snakes, turtles, or birds here but they need to add them. Why not reuse some of those Splash animatronics. I would love to see Louis play with the Swamp boys.

Although Tiana's looks cute I feel like its lacking any sort of heart and life maybe its just me feeling absolutely no connection to the retheme but i cant help but feel rethemeing splash mountain only took out more of the soulfullness (is that a word?) And life away from the parks but thats probably just me

I think honestly splash mountain’s theme was terrifying! A bunny getting kidnapped? How d’ya think kids are going to react to that? But Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! Absolute perfection! Nothing scary and it’s for all ages! Great!

yeah but I think one of the reasons they overhauled it is cuz it was based on song of the south which is a pretty racist cartoon

@@OtterWalrusenah. No one knew the origins and so what if they did? There was no racism in the ride. The real reason (imo) is because splash mountain was breaking down wayyy too much and needed an overhaul and Iger is constantly shoving down the new IPs in our throats so it was a chance to get social points for using Tiana, renewed interest in her story, got the ride completely refurbished, and let them add the t1000 animatronics in another ride

from the preview at WDW They totally botched the story and execution of the ride, to Superstar Limo levels. We need it to open up and see if it's salvageable at all, or scrap it all and start over. This is BAD SHOW. They need to add in Dr. Facilier and Start over. The Voodoo angle might actually save the ride.

They should have done an overhaul on the rusty SM animatronics and just left the beloved attraction alone. The only people who wanted it changed was Disney.

Splash Mountain was one of the best attractions at the Magic Kingdom & Disneyland of all time. The Zip-a-Dee-Do-Da Paddleboat scene after the falls was epic! An instant classic. Such a shame they destroyed it for this.

Tiana's looks so cute, love her new look and I am still amazed at all the movement of all these new(ish) animatronics (haven't been back to disney since before avatar land). Wish there was less screens for storytelling bits, but overall it looks good. Was never a huge Splash fan though.

Every single comments section about Disney rides, parks, or media is all the justification you need for why Disney Adults get made fun of and deserve every second of it. Whining that Change=Bad! so they can desperately cling on to childhood nostalgia, even when the nostalgia is for racism they refuse to acknowledge exists. @@Ilicia_08 The main character of Song of the South was an enslaved black man who was happy to be a slave. In context of the movie, the song "Zip a Dee Doo Da" is about what a wonderful, happy day he's having on the plantation. It's not just racist, it's so over-the-top racist that Disney has the movie locked away, does not include it on Disney+, and is unlikely to ever release it to the public again. And it's not some modern "woke" idea that it's racist, either. Disney stopped re-releasing Song of the South in 1986 because it was overtly racist, and civil rights groups were calling the movie racist as early as the 1940s and 1950s. Song of the South is a racist movie, and no amount of childhood nostalgia can change that. Some things are better left in the past.

@@Sauce787 Thank you, but I stood in line four and a half hours to ride Splash Mountain the day it opened. And I've seen enough of Tiana's swamp mountain expedition to know Disney had enough to give Tiana her own amazing ride. Instead they opted to claim racism ( which was never a thing) to remove a very much beloved ride to half a$$ a ride for their only black princess. In my opinion making themselves look even more racist. But really do you even have an opinion about Disney's newest steaming pile.
