To be fair, every time the guy dons the mast, it's to protect or save his loved ones. Makes me wonder if there's some ironic twist that the bloodthirsty and power-hungry mask can only be used by someone with pure intentions.

Beyond cool how the very mask empowering you is the final boss after taking over the Evil One’s corpse. What a way to cap off a classic trilogy

The mask was always the enemy. He just needed you to kill his enemies. The tragedy of Jennifer was the perfect scenario. The mask would rather stay with Rick, but rick resists so the mask makes Rick fight for his freedom.

And that was also for the cutscenes in this game, Rick, Jennifer & David were played by real life actors/actresses except for the Terror Mask, I think he was made by 3D printing except for the Splatterhouse (2010) re-release. They changed Rick, Jennifer & David's actors/actresses and used a new artstyle due to "legal reasons".

In most games your either a human killing demons with magic swords and or guns. Or A half demon killing other demons with magic, swords and or guns. Splatter house your a human burrowing the power of a demonic mask and beating the shit outta everything with mostly your fists.

The second boss is called "Giant Boreworm", also the 3rd boss is the only one who's two forms have different names, the first one is named just "Teddy Bear", the second, demonic one is named "The Cannibal".

If you want the best ending, you have to abuse every possible mechanic you can, no choice. Animation cancel, corner pummeling, always take the fastest path to boss room etc

I think it's close to Double Dragon 3 NES: using regular fight mechanics, it's almost impossible to beat the game, but once you master the high kick trick, you simply have to use it EVERY time and you should be fine... I really wonder if developers managed to beat their game the same way 'cause otherwise I don't see how they would play it.

It gave me nightmares as a kid, then when I revisited to the game I realized it wasn't *that* scary and it was actually the weakest boss in the game. The disturbing part returned when I came to understand the whole Jennifer plot from Stage 2 and what happens if you fail to save her.
