In this tutorial I will show you the easiest way for how to split an image in Photoshop. Open the image in program, select slice tool, and then right click and select divide slice, and it`s appears a window and you cand split the image in how many parts you want, add the number in that box horizontally and vertically and click on ok, then go to - file - export - save for web - choose the type of image and save - and then select the folder when you want to export the splitted image.

@@davidlastname392 Hi, After you splited the images, you add them back in program, and arange them like is one image, you select all layer with images - right click and merge layers, or select all layers with images and right click and convert to smart object.

it's only saving one of the slices as a jpeg. the rest are all saving as gifs

Try to have the last version of Photoshop, select all the slices, - export - save for web, and in that window choose jpeg - optimized, click save. In save for web window check If are all the slices selected, in the left corner - fit in View or zoom out to see the image, and with shift select all the slices and then you can export as jpeg.

If you choose - export save for web the image is exported splited in how many parts do you want, and If you split the image and choose save as - the image will be exported without being splitted.

After you split the image in how many parts you want, the each image slice has the same size. And then you can export the image, you don't need to do anything else.

Hello! I want to make a thumbnail with 3 separate images split diagonally by two white lines (in a V kind of shape). Any idea on how to do that? I can't find any tutorial for it.

Hi, one way is to split your thumbnail in 3 parts, - go to View - guides - new guides layout and add 3 columns to have 3 parts, now create 3 shapes, place images in each shape( clipping mask) and then draw 2 white lines in diagonally.

Thank you for your tutorial. I have a little problem with the "image size" when saving. My original file's size was w760 and h1100 pixel (for each slice), but I can't set it to save as 100% size. It said "the value between 0.01 and 45.46 is required". Do you know how to fix it? Thank you 🥺

Because the image is too big to save 100% size for each slice. Try with an image smaller.

No, you can split and export the image only jpeg/png.

Yes, go to file - export - save for web and in that window choose png instead of jpeg

Just open an image in Photoshop, and select the slice tool (is under croop tool) and right click - divide slice, and in that window type in how many parts do you want to split the image (horrizontally and vertically) and click ok, and go to file - export - save for web and choose jpeg/png and save. No, You can't add bookmarks, you can name each image slice and then you can connect easily the images.

how do I know what size each page will be, length and width?

If you want to know the size of each part of the image you want to export, select slice tool and it appears an window and in that window check divide horizontally and check divide vertically and then you can type the number in the first box, and in second box you will ses the pixels for each part of the image. ex. for this example I split the image in 4 parts and vertically width - 1500 px and horizontally hight 1000px - each part of the image that you exported has that dimensions

I only showed what other formats there are, but the selection was.jpeg and was exported 4 jpeg images.

For transparent image you must export images as png not as jpeg, and is important to have just the image not an background below image.

Hi, you can make a selection from a part of image, let`s say with rectangular marque tool and in the selected part right click and choose Layer via copy or cut and that part of the image is added on another layer.

You can't add guides in triangles, but you can create a triangles from shapes and place Image in Shape(clipping mask) and then export each Image in Shape separately.

Maybe you don't have enough ram memory not space drive memory. Or maybe the image is to big to split, try with a smaller image.

Buna, Poti sa creezi mai multe cercuri(elipse tool) - selectezi toate cercurile și click dreapta- Smart object, apoi imaginea o pui deasupra și selectezi ambele layere - create clipping mask - unde imaginea vine in cercuri/puncte. Sau imporți un pattern de puncte/cercuri in Photoshop și imaginea o pui deasupra punctelor și - clipping mask. Apoi salvezi PNG punctele cu imaginea în ele.
