Basically it is a stamp positioner, pressure tool. The one that many of the big names use is called the Debbie tool. It has a clear doorknob on top of the wood base. There are many versions where people make them from the lid of a glass candle jar. Many people also use a dry eraser, the felt on the bottom helps them slide over the Mistie lid.
